Not sure where they are getting the money from but Notts County are having under soil heating installed at Meadow Lane.

Not sure where they are getting the money from but Notts County are having under soil heating installed at Meadow Lane. Already £14m in debt and losing £3m p.a. I've no idea how wealthy the new owners are but that seems a lot of debt for a L2 club. I can't understand these comments, does it really mean "connected" to the boiler or simply just switched on when there's a cold spell? "We’ll also be taking the opportunity to install an undersoil heating system – although it’s important to note that, due to the costs involved, this won’t be connected to a boiler until such time we encounter consistently lengthy cold spells, where a number of matches are put at risk."

Some people talk rubbish on this forum no way an extra 40 games on the Mem pitch you will be lucky if it is half of that Given how many mid week games we play it'll probably mean two games a week most weeks, you do wonder whether any real thought was put into this decision or simply made without any thought over whether the pitch could take so many extra games.

Looks like there are 12 teams in the Womens National League Division One South West which is where I presume the Gas Girls will compete.
So 11 home league games pls whatever cups they are in.

This season we played 12 midweek games at home - less than one every third week of the season. We're also away every second weekend, not sure how even with extra games you get to "...two games a week most weeks..."

I assumed the woman played a similar amount of games to the men, looking into it it all seems a bit Micky Mouse, as do we really need to play the likes of Portishead at the Mem.

I see what you mean, but at least we don't have to play Forest Gump, Newport Cowboys and Cheltenham Broncos any more. Might go back to the good old days and play pre-season friendlies again them though?

Really think lower league club should go artificial.
The technology is there. It's not like Luton and QPR in the 80's.
Pay big once, it last ten years but can be used multiple times a week.
How much do we pay each summer, plus all the day to day costs in the actual season, including all the labour, machines and water etc.
I'm sure it would save a fortune plus it would give increased revenue streams.

Have you ever seen a good game on an artificial pitch? I admit I didn't watch them week-in week-out, but Harrogate and Sutton got promoted from the National league playing on 4G pitches. No complaints from players or fans and the only reason they had to rip them up and put grass back down was EFL rules...

Also surprised no one has called you out on the 'Micky Mouse' comment, our Women's team are set up to play at a much higher level than they currently are but have to climb up the levels via success on the pitch. They have had a *lot* of success on the pitch in recent years so if the marketing and pricing is done well I wouldn't be surprised if they get higher attendances than the men do for EFL Trophy games....
