just accuse him of pearly clutching snowflakery. he loves misused word salad to show how clever he is. Matty Taylors blue and white army! Here we go again, I wondered when you would pipe up, your sense of enormous well being know no bounds, you will be calling me the worst on here next. Hahaha. People are aloud to have different opinions to yours, honestly. beautiful irony. booking marking this reply to bring out every time he starts his rants....

Surely everyone can move one from comparing managers on here, whether is DC, JB, PT, IH or MT.
It's all a bit tedious.
Rovers are 3 points from safety with 11 games to go, happy days. Season is done and dusted.
Time to just look forward to the end of the season and hopefully a strong summer of recruitment.
And hopefully the East Stand plans are out before the end of the season.

But insisting JB was a decent L1 manager who should never have been sacked is an odd opinion to have and an ever weirder hill to die on. Sat here giggling. Anyone seen Topper lately, another not willing to give the manager a chance and be patient, I guess he’s in the garage servicing his BMX again. I thought you'd given up watching Rovers, as your old man told you he can't be bothered going anymore, that's hardly great support for MT?

He contradicts himself so much he probably can't remember what he thinks of the manager 🙈 At least I don't go shopping at 3pm on Saturday

He’s 77 and it’s a 200 mile round trip, our support is 26 years on the bounce with season tickets and seeing 10 away games this season. Whilst my Father has taken a rest from the last 2 home games I have watched the games with him at his house on Ifollow, we are back going Saturday. Matt Taylor has our support, happy to defend him against a hater like you.

At least I've got a brain to engage, after a good week for Rovers it's baffling why posters want to pick a fight with other Rovers fans rather than just enjoy a week where we've witnessed a good Q&A, a decent away win and seen City lose yet another game.

Blimey, this thread!! For the record I like MT, a decent manager and a good bloke I would imagine. Without having had a real transfer window (one that he was able to recruit players he planned to) he has done really well. But I doubt if any BRFC manager has given us a Saturday afternoon like JB did in May 22. I doubt any club will ever get promotion knowing they had to win 7-0 from midway through the first half. So I’m grateful to him for that. Just as I am to DC for those consecutive promotions. And with it being football I bet MT will have his difficult times when this place turns on him. Some of JBs football was excellent but somehow he got sidetracked into believing possession was the be all of everything and forgot the need to play football where that possession counted. Buts he’s gone and I’m grateful for what he did. Now we have MT and I’ve enjoyed seeing the football in the matches I’ve seen. (I have been lucky!)
We need to get away from always thinking Manager A is crap and Manager B the best thing since sliced bread. We are a lower league football club where managers last around about 2 years, some longer, some shorter. Whether it’s a good thing or not we have a lot of fans whose expectations are much greater than the ability (or pockets) of a succession of owners to achieve those expectations. And until that changes I’m not sure much will change greatly. Although to be fair these owners despite what some have said appear to have a plan and seem to be working their way through it. (South Stand and plans for the ground, putting a recruitment team together to support MT and the club)
And as for ‘we’ve got our Rovers back’….. Even when I was freezing my ***** off at Nuneaton 9 years ago I never thought I didn’t have Rovers. Talk about cliches. Since that time I can remember at Wembley Olly saying the same thing and it was the first time I’d heard it. Ever since it’s been repeated whenever we do well. A tad OTT. We’ve always had our Rovers, what’s different is that sometimes we’re in a period of achieving and at other times we’ve gone backwards.
All part of the rich tapestry of being a gashead.
UTG!

Hope you are well mate Paul" I applauded you for questioning a narcissist, a man who hits women and people on a street on a night out, and let’s not forget humiliating club staff. The word hater might have been the wrong one but your negativity towards Matt Taylor hasn’t been justified. I said 4 weeks ago on this forum, give the man time, some patience and his own window. 1.56 PPG with a side inherited is 71.76 points of over calendar season. So admit I was right to say he needed respect and time? And Wareham, I was at Nuneaton, Braintree and Altrincham, the last two were the lowest this club has ever been, I saw the fans try and get on the team bus as well that season. But back then we had a manager driven by failure the season before, brought to tears over it. Yes we struggled at the start of that season and it felt like we truly lost our Rovers, it was never about him, for DC it was all about us fans and this club and he delivered……..But under the last manager, it was all about him, players sent for therapy, we don’t need to say what he said and got up to, by saying we have our Rovers back, we have a manager who an under 16 child can look up to, would you want your child to see Joey Barton as a role model? The kids are the future of this club as well. We’ve Got Our Rovers Back……..and I stand by it

Have we though, its Joeys players plus Conteh; 18 days ago, I was there, after the final whistle on the pitch Monotone refused to celebrate the win shouting at the supporters that we needed to help the team because the players were generally frail and weak, on Saturday he was doing a Klopp, talking about bribing the players with his money, blah blah blah, and implying the very same players Evans, Thomas, Brown et al were playing well. Ffs what's he like. Happy to give him a window to build his long ball from the back squad, and 15 matches next term to show what he is all about, lets hope he does well, currently for me I am not convinced. His Exeter team played some good football, so I'm not sure why you keep saying about his long ball style. He was right when he said the players were drained. We have had no mid week game for the last two weeks, which has helped. Before that he had no time on the training pitch, to get his principles across. His one permanent signing hardly ever plays it long. So I'm not sure why you are so hung up on a long ball style. It's like you have made your mind up already. I don’t think we’ve become a long ball team either. We don’t muck about with it in defence as much and look to move the ball and our players at a quicker tempo than we did under Barton but we still mostly play through the pitch kits just quicker and not as boring as before. And more effective - see PPG. I’d rather we played 300 passes in a game and won than played 500 passes of which 300 were sideways across the back line and lose. Barton had a game plan and style in mind which only could have been successful if we’d had the best squad in the league. Burnley this season / last season are a good example of why you have to mix it up when you’re not a top side because playing like you are and losing many games is not nice football.

I sat next to Bradley Goldberg’s Dad and he was shocked when I said to him, this is a bit different to Crystal Palace?!……lovely guy, and his Mum and Sister, they followed him everywhere and he was very pragmatic about his ownership of Palace and how it went wrong. The most interesting thing of the conversation was he said his son had only been brought in as a kick up the back side for Matty Taylor who was misfiring and missing chances, it worked!

Not one to big up Celtic fans, but when the truly great Andy Goram was playing for Rangers and admitted to mild schizophrenia, some wags came up with "Two Andy Gorams, there's only..."etc. Great humour from the greatest city in the UK. (Andy laughed about it, by the way) 💙🏴 "Can you hear Gurnham Singh?" was well received iirc. Lovely bloke Gurnham. Would always have a beer after the game and chat to anyone. Top man, crap ref. 👍

Always way out front in the annual fitness test at Lillishall. I'm getting confused CG (nothing new there). It was Jarnail Singh that would always stop for a beer. He was a dismal ref and a lovely bloke. Gurnham (unrelated), I never met, but did see him smile at the song. 😁
