And despite this (which has been pretty obvious all season!), he seems totally inept at getting anywhere near the same levels as the previous 2 managers did from this squad. Curious...where does his points per game rank compared to Barton and Mangan? This has been the worst football out of the 3 with the most excuses given This season alone according to Wiki the win ratios are: AM 57% JB 38.5% MT 35% AM's figure, assuming it's correct, seriously brings into question that this squad can't cope with the physical side of L1, is MT just trying to fool us? AM was in charge for 7 games. Not much to sample on.

How on earth can anyone disagree with this? Total and complete sense. Absolute nail on head. Horrendous - in fact negligent -recruitment from his predecessor got us here, then pathetic backing from the owners ensur there stayed there. Taylor in đđđđđ Crap squad, everyone will be raving again when Taylor, Finley, Vale, Martin back in the side and we are winning. Baggott poor, Grant, Gordon, Marquis horrific. Not one Div1 side would want any of the last 3 in their side. Taylor will deliver, even if we stay up by one point Iâd give him the summer window, we gave 1.17 PPG Barton from Christmas the summer window and people were still signing âweâve got super Joey Barton, he knows what we wantâŚâŚ..â Manger canât believe how deep and bloated the squad is, the board fully know itâs a poor squad for money spent. I wonât post on it anymore, this forum wonât get him the sack and we canât afford too either, we are currently paying for two full time management teams, we havenât settled with any of the first lot and Jennings is being paid bonuses still all over the place. GC spent quite a bit of money bringing in the likes of JCH, Ogogo and Davies, I can't understand why MT just brought in 4 youngsters, particularly when he knew around the middle of January that Taylor and Ward were likely to be out for weeks and Finley was also struggling with a hip problem.

Engage your brain a bit Topper - maybe it was out of his hands; you really think he couldn't see the problems and just chose not to resolve them? The board shipped out our biggest goal contributor and then finally gave him the nod to grab some cheap loans at the last minute. He's been shafted. The resteraunt boys are out of their depth.

Now that heâs recognised the problem I presume with the ending of so many contracts this summer we can expect more players who will play the way he wants us to play. I always criticised JB for downing tools and meekly accepting relegation last time after the Northampton draw, at least during the matches MT is trying to do stuff and change things. We are just very inconsistent and we have missed our A team of Ward and Finley in the middle. And of course failing to get a striker in this window, which seems to be a continual story over many years.
But thereâs been huge over-reaction to losing although if you lose home matches against poor teams you probably deserve all you get. We'll finish mid table which will be ok but which could have been far better in a poor league 1 compared to previous years.
And of course MT is getting a bit of a kicking at the moment when itâs probably not all his fault. I hope that having his coaching team in place we'll see the priority switch to putting some kind of recruitment team in place ready for the summer, even a DoF. I hope roady is right when he says that 3 big signings are already likely to happen. Over to the owners I reckon.
UTG!

It really depends on whether the owners gave him the funds to sign players. I have concerns they didn't. I find it funny though that a week ago posters were complaining about the owners and lack of scouting setup to sign players - that was after 2 wins on the bounce. Suddenly we lose 2 games and the same posters are redirecting the transfer window solely at Taylor's feet. Y'all know who you are.

Tripe or truth? "We can't hide away from the fact that, every time we come up against this type of challenge, we fall short." "In a certain type of game, a less 'clean' game you might say, where it's a little bit more 'back-to-front' and a bit of physicality is needed, we're short in that department. We have a chance one end of the pitch, miss the target and the ball goes out of play for a goal kick. More than likely - ten seconds later - we're defending our box. That happens every single time: whether it's a long throw, or another set piece, or whether it's an unchallenged ball in the middle of the pitch. Regardless of who I've changed personnel-wise, the outcome is still the same. I've been jumping to different formations and different solutions, but - I guarantee - it won't change. It won't change because, unfortunately, the nature of the squad, the 'DNA' of the squad, is not to go towards the ball. We're not capable of doing that. So, we're going to have to find a way of protecting them (the team), but I can't protect against a goal kick". "That's a clear weakness and it seems to have been there for longer than just this season, in relation to everyone saying that 'Bristol Rovers do well against the big teams on a clean pitch in a clean game of football and then get beaten by the bottom-half teams in a certain type of game. That is going to be down to recruitment at the end of the season. This group of players can get better at it. We are working with them every single day to recognise it (the problem)". "The second goal (today) from a goal kick. Suddenly, the ball's in the back of our net. It drives me absolutely mad." "People talk a lot about the shirt... but, when the ball's there, you have to challenge" "I've tried my hardest to be consistent, in terms of giving players a chance. Now, every single game like this (when we get beaten), I have to change it. I have to be seen to change it." "We're capable of more, but the game is constantly telling us where we're weak" "We were chasing the game with the same attacking patterns: no ball-speed, no end-moments" "We're so leaky, it's disgraceful" "Can we take those moments of an opposition long-ball out of the equation? We can't. We cannot do that. Can we take a second ball out of the middle of the pitch? Can we take a set-piece moment? We can't do that. Those are the bare essentials of lower-league football and it's just not been valued enough in all departments for too long at this football club. It is being valued now". How utterly pathetic. Youâre the manager Take some responsibility.

Been saying it for a few years on here but if we want to be successful we have to shelve out for a decent striker or two. Getting a decent one on the way up not on the way down (Marquis, JCH, even Martin ) is not the answer. Must of missed Roadies 3 potential big signings but talk is cheapâŚ. Letâs hope they actually arrive.

âWhy did he sign more kidsâ
Letâs go back to the hilarious interview with HAS where he says the aim if the premier league âwe wonât be doing much businessâ
We didnât give him the money to go out and buy experience. We were contacted about the two late arrivals on deadline day, we have no recruitment department other than the man who writes the cheques, son. We were being REACTIVE.
Wage bill trimmed, in profit on transfer fees. He wasnât backed properly, do people seriously think a rough and ready lower league defender wouldnât want some experience in the side?

Made to trim the squad down, no money available on deadline day other than for cheap loans despite being 450k in profit. Only been allowed his main coach to join part time, heâs furious about this by the way. Hes been shafted by the new blokes and he wonât be the last

Besides that, what happens in the future doesnât change the fact that in the January window he wasnât backed.

The recruitment set up at the club is a joke so the likelihood of us finding any experienced players was very unlikely unless a club rang us up/sent a circular around that players were available anyway. I think Taylor has made mistakes since heâs been here but Iâm not having it was his choice to be sitting around on deadline day waiting for calls to come in about players.

So what realistic practical steps does the club need to do now so we are ready in the close season?
Or are we saying the new owners really don't want to do this?
