Yep no guarantees in football Enjoy the ride or dont. It's really only constant social media that makes fans (of all clubs) over think everything. UTG Spot on. But didn't Jevani Brown's assist on Saturday make your heart sing? Great bit of skill, almost like being in the Premier for a nano second. (Not really, and I stand in the Thatcher's and my eyesight's not what it was. ) As you say, enjoy the ride. Moments of joy when they come are few and far between for fans like us but when they do arrive... Totally agree. It really wateres me off when fans overreact to a bad run and make histrionic statements pretty much based on bad mood or entitlement. Play the long game here. We’ve been a league team for over 100 years, barring one pretty memorable season in non-league. In that time, if you don’t count the non-league promotion, we’ve been promoted from tier 4 to tier 3 twice and from tier 3 to tier 2 three times. 5 league promotions in around 100 years! I think it’s something like 7 relegations. So, nearly 90 years of us probably knocking around mid-table most years. How did people put up with that in the past? Compared to some of the dross we’ve had to put up with over the years it’s been a real pleasure to watch footballers the calibre of Antony Evans, Luke Thomas and Aaron Collins and Eliot Anderson over the last few seasons. Chris Martin’s finishing this year has been that of a real master of his craft. There are the seeds of a really good team here. I don’t understand why the general feeling is not to get behind them. Rock bottom was seeing how fierce some of the criticism was when we lost the other day to Northampton. Anyone with a fair minded view of that game could see we would struggle with a midfield of Josh Grant (lost his ability to accelerate due to injury) and a combination of Harvey Vale and Harry Vaughan - both kids. All three played out of position because we literally had no fit available central midfielders. How can you win a league one match when you have no-one to win the fight in the middle of the park? It’s pretty much impossible yet fans turned on the team. That doesn’t sit well with me. It’s been a feeling of doom and gloom yet we’ve taken 12 points from our last 7 games and are actually closer to the play offs and further clear of relegation than when that run started! Why is this happening? Is it societal? People get bored easier now and can’t handle an end of season with nothing to play for? I’d much rather that than a relegation scrap. Maybe it’s because Barton promised us we’d have a right good go this season. How did that end? Taylor’s still new in through the door and deserves time to shape things his way. Meanwhile his record is perfectly good so far yet he gets pelters. He and the team deserve our support, in my opinion. There is no evidence to show they’re not putting it in or that they don’t care. I can well understand why Taylor said that the shirt weighs heavy at the moment. They’re probably a bit baffled as to why they’re putting in a shift week in week out and not getting our full support.

Actually, what happens if a mod steps out of line and posts something against the rules or is a Richard ? Do the others decide and it’s done on a majority vote ? They get sent to prison, ideally with Tom Gorringe.

For anyone feeling a bit Meh , I would recommend moving to NZ for 20 years. You’ll feel absolutely Jazzed every time you’re back for a game…..even a Papa John’s kick around.

I am a realist therefore feel pretty normal.
If our average position in the last 60 odd years has been about 10th in the third division, we are doing pretty normally.
Maybe after some early season hype this season has probably seen more downs than ups, but it will be a really tough league next season and if we avoid relegation next season, and then get the recruitment team really working the season after, then things will be looking up.
I expect a few good players and agents have been tapped up already and made gentlemans agreements, so it will still be tough to get our initial top targets this summer.

Exactly how I feel fair play you’ve summed it up nicely. I really don’t know that’s wrong with so many, I feel we can achieve far more with Taylor than I felt we would under Barton who was mostly talk and no trousers and seemed to strike lucky in his only good spell at the club which was only four months long when he managed to get a premier league standard player on loan for our league 2 club. This season The signing of Conteh has improved things and our form under Taylor has been better than any of Barton’s form in league 1 for us all the while dealing with all of the injuries he had to deal with also. Im feeling fairly optimistic about the run in and I think we’ll improve further results wise as we get more back from injury and can see us finishing in the top 10. Off the field it’s taken us a while to get new staff in place but now the balls rolling in that department I’m looking forward to seeing what our new owner and his management and background staff will bring to the club whilst many of our fans seem to have made up their minds that he’s bad news for the club already.

I think I’ve seen 5 promotions and 5 relegations since I started supporting in 86 so the idea that there’s more downs than ups aint true. UpandDown the Gas.

People are right in so much as we're in our "average position".
Some of us have yet to find anything inspirational in the manager. The football he has us playing isn't consistent, his tactics can be baffling etc.
Hopefully this will all change.
Onwards and sideways drift.
