Becoming such an important player for us again. Back to his best under Taylor. Get his contract extension agreed early! Works so hard as well as providing dead balls strikers must dream about. Build the team around him and Conteh With Finley next season too who seems revitalised under the new boss. UTG

Evo has great skill, and can aggressively tackle, we cannot afford to lose him, Finley always been tenacious but also has good ball ability, as OP said with Conteh that is a great base to build on.

Evans is quality, can easily play in the Championship, hopefully BRFC can keep hold of him in the summer; although I would not be surprised if he is sold, as all of the better players have always been. Also, from what Finley was saying recently, appears he may want to go back to the North West, be with his family, so I guess he will also be offski. I am sure Taylor and George realise this and will be factoring them not being here in Bristol into their transfer blue print.

Hopefully he will extend his contract and stay with us for at least another year, before we sell him. It was only last season that a lot of people said, he wasn't good enough for League 1 and he was struggling. So hopefully he will try and establish himself further at this level, before moving on.

I have seen a few of our players seemingly travel back up north after home games. That's a lot of petrol money and time traveling to see loved ones, plus the general cheaper cost of living and house prices in the North West. Nick Tanner mentioned in his book, the number of clubs in the north west means a lot of players don't have to uproot their families in the later days of their careers. He may actually be quids in even if he took a couple of grand a year pay cut. Funnily enough after saying all that, if Pompey mess up, thats the sort of club, I can see him going to on a three year deal.

Odd then that the impression I got from the Q&A was Evans seems perfectly happy at the club and appreciates being named Captain. If Finley does depart in the summer Evo could become our permanent captain next season.

Evans spent a year in Germany before joining us, so I doubt he's worried about living away from home!

Can’t be easy having a young family and not being at home, I think Finlay will be off ! 🙃💙

Massively talented but works hard and not afraid to get stuck in - a great and rare combination these days. Definitely need to get him tied down to a long term deal if we can. Can’t believe that even though he had a dip in form last season there were some fans on here wanting to get rid of him. Just weird.

Can’t believe that even though he had a dip in form last season there were some fans on here wanting to get rid of him. Just weird. Agree totally. I really like his evolution as a player. League 2 he obviously was way above that level as an attacking player but didn’t yet have the grit to play as a two in central midfield, for instance. Last year he really developed the ugly side of the game, a little to the detriment of his playmaking side. This year it’s all come together and he is a massive influence wherever he is deployed.

Played the most minutes (apart from Cox so that will change soon). Pivotal in the team and having a great season.
Just because he's taken over as captain from Finners doesn't mean he needs to get a yellow card every game. Would like to see him reign that in a little tbh
