I think Joey could be getting some legal action against him too with those comments. Should have just kept his gob shut but it shows there really isnt a first for everything.. Joey probably felt he had to speak up. Can't have anyone sully is impeccable reputation Yes we cant have his good name being dragged through the mud!

Agree Chewy, glad Jamie has been given the chance to get this out in the open. Barton lost a lot of respect, and fans, over this incident alone, and no doubt there will be other incidents that come out in the wash. Spent some time with Jamie at an Aldershot away game recently, and believe me, his knowledge is unbelievable, and there’s not much he doesn’t know about the game. A massive loss to our club. Did he!? Didn’t seem like it on the last day of the season against Scunthorpe. Secondly, not an easy read and feel For Jamie, I’m pleased he is back working in a role he enjoys and maybe in the future he may return to Rovers again. No hiding the fact that the recruitment and the side inherited by Ben Garner was one of the worst I’ve seen. Whether that was Ben Garners fault, Tommy Widdringtons or a combination I do not know. Thirdly, Starnes I’m not sure what he did during his time at the Club, their were people at the time at the footballing club milking the money in from Wael without actually delivering on what they were recruited for and didn’t care so long as they were getting their wages each month. I just hope as a club we have learned from our mistakes and not go back into a position like that again.

*Grabs bucket of popcorn* Sweet or salt or do you have 'gourmet' flavours? mixed. Or a big bag of toffee popcorn. Actually, I do feel a bit for Jamie now, gonna be caught in days of barton tweets and social media click bait stories.

The thing is why would Jamie lie? what does he gain? Seems to be a long time ago and he has moved on until (I guess) Bristol Post decided to follow up on/stir things mentioned in this forum?

So Joey has tweeted that it’s false but in the same tweet confirmed that it’s true? What an absolute spud

Seems like the Bristol post has opened a hornets nest with this one. It would seem they instigated the interview, accepted what Janue Hedges said as fact and then asked JB for his comments. What on earth did they expect by doing so, after all there is always two sides to every story and if as threatened JB takes them or Jamie to court it’s not a forgone conclusion who would win the case.

If Barton takes them to court, he'd have to prove that Jamie was leaking sensitive information to the press.
Jamie's just got to prove that Barton told him to do 50 keepy uppies, which Barton's already admitted to. In the article...
Jamie's not made any libellous accusations in that article that I can see. It's a free country, you can express an opinion.
More hot air.

Where Barton gave a response justifying his position - and not denying it or threatening them with legal action if they publish it. He even got a snide comment on the number of keepy-uppies in there. It seems to me that Barton wanted them to publish the story so he could whip up yet more publicity with his protestations of fabrications etc. He will claim that the media are trying to silence/cancel him because of whatever latest conspiracy he is peddling. Total loser.

I just wish ours was a club where the lad could’ve risen up and shone , quiet pride for all of us, but alas it feels like it’s always this other way. Thin soup 🍲 , Luke warm and desperately disappointing

Interesting how Barton implied Jamie Hedges had no future in football, well the boot is on the other foot now, as due to Barton's recent behavior his future in football is pretty well dead and buried. He boasts about getting us promoted , but fails to mention that for the first time in our league history he relegated us as the bottom club in league 1, the season before.

This latest episode demonstrates what I and many others have been saying for a long time. Barton is a gutless thug who seems also too pick on the weaker members of society in an effort to prove he is a "hard man". He is weak and spineless and should finish up in prison cell with someone who is "harder" than him. Someone who can talk to him in the only way the little worm understands. Many of us have come up against playground bullies who have to be dealt with in the only manner they understand. Those who live by the sword, die by the sword

Storm in a tea cup for me. If making a staff member in the football industry do keepy ups constitutes bullying then I’m afraid we’ve gone a bit snowflake. Imagining far worse goes on on building sites. And to be fair our recruitment was a shambles that season we were relegated.

Now mentioning our 0 goals in 6 games and the current manager losing the fans and players. Yeah cheers Joey, mainly players you brought in to the treatment table on high wages.
All this while extending his holiday during his crowdfunding..

Making anyone do anything with the view to humiliate them probably is the definition of bullying. There is a difference between: "Hey there, I hear you like keepy ups. Let's have a competition for some beers" Vs I am going to humiliate you in front of everyone by insisting that you do keepy ups and threatening your job if you don't do what I say.
