Will we be hoping to sign any of the players that have joined us on loan recently at the end of this season?
Three of the 2021/22 loanees are now with us permanently.To date none of the loanees from the 2022/23 season have returned.
If we are fortunate to sign any of the recent loanees which of the players are a realistic possibility?
Several of the central defenders we have had on loan seem to have blossomed. Jarrell Quansah, Bobby Thomas and Lewis Gibson for example.

Not sure I’d want any back on permanent contracts. Baggott has had good moments but also some shocking ones. Vale is full of effort and great attitude but I was expecting a bit more technical ability, goals and assists. I wonder if his future lies in being left back rather than an attacker?
Has anyone followed the careers of Spence and Jasper since their spells with us btw?

I’d have Vale back, there’s a promising player there
I’d be looking to see if Christina is available again, but apart from those I’d be hoping we are looking to develop our own players as a long term strategy
If Baggott was for sale, MT has seen enough to know if there’s a prospect that can improve in there, although I’d be looking to add some experience alongside Taylor (Wilson isn’t the answer)
I know all league 1 sides have multiple loans these days, but we seem to have relied too heavily in defence/keeper and we’ve had no stability along our back line and it’s shown. All the best sides have a settled defence.

If he's released this summer then Baggott may develop into a decent CH. Wael only suggested this week that Chelsea could eventually sell Vale for £40m so I doubt he'll be signing for us!

I would keep Baggott as well if he became available there is definitely a good player in there and with time him and Taylor could be a partnership that can take us to the next level. I think MT prefers 3 at the back so add an experienced CB as well as Wilson and the back line would look decent. Wing back will be the big problem as Hunt is ok on the right when fit and Thomas can play the roll as well. Its the left that we need to improve Gordon is still a decent prospect but we need better to progress. We need to recruit to play a certain way as at present it's all over the place and I can see the likes of Sinclair,Hoole being shown the door. Certainly will be an interesting Summer. |

I think some people are forgetting that these are young players that can get a lot better. I expect some world have said similar stuff about Quansah last season. With age and experience a lot of players improve a lot. Vale and baggott both have the potential to get better and at least play in the championship.

Crama wasn't generally OK under JB. He has at least one mistake in him per game. That normally costs us a goal. |

The chances are Quansah would still look as poor this season with us, as there's no way a player can improve that much in less than a season. Playing alongside VVD must be the difference. |

Vale and baggott would be decent acquisitions, Aguilera on another season loan if available.
Finley s comments were enlightening, you would think players would knuckle down and try and earn a new deal, unless they've already been told?
Perhaps Roady might update us ?
