Because fans like continually try and ridicule somebody who seems to be trying their best to pull us into the 20th century? That’s the last century. That’s my point. That was also my point we're so far behind we're playing a massive catch up, GD & NH hardly spent anything on the Mem etc and it seems Wael was also selective where he spent his money. |

But when people do say what is/was happening, as I dud with FM, Lyde Green and sale of club, you get the herd mentality. It’s just not worth the aggro. It’s why I rarely look, let alone post. MDT is about it, for me now. I see how o2 is trying here but having the same happen. You either decide to believe it or not.. Nothing was happening with Lyde Green as far as the club were concerned? As far as the FM that only died when the new owners decided it was a non starter you clearly had no inside info on that project. 😜 |

Seems to me there’s a lot of accusations of “slagging off” or “hatred” of TG. Some on here are making accusations without any evidence to back up their statements, or suggesting that TG should be sent to prison simply for some of his mistakes which are not prison worthy. Indeed I think it’s unfair to criticise him for the Mint Bet or Football Index sponsorship which seemed like good commercial opportunities for us at the time. However there are also some very valid questions being raised about his leadership which it seems is unfair to be brushed off with such labels instead of justifying why those valid concerns aren’t concerns at all? Seems a bit lazy to me to just describe that as “hating” on him. I do find it strange, club employee, in a job still at the club and slagged off where as an ex employee who was a wife beater and the thread is moved for danger of blowing up the forum 🤷🏼♂️🎯 Not aimed at you Gasandelectricity at all, I just find it strange, I guess that’s the power of the Barton Petition Club We’ve had the Kate Middleton thread locked, Barton thread moved, no one knows how Tom is currently feeling, is he under pressure? is he being marginalised? A made up rumour, now 12 pages of talking about a club employee, Mods, I don’t think it’s fair on Tom and his family, certainly as well if other board members are reading this as well and he is under the spotlight.
Tom’s biggest crime was letting the wife beater continually get away with opening his mouth as he did and I wrote to both him and Wael Al Qadi about this. But he deserves some respect here guys

It’s hardly taking over the forum as Barton was for the first couple of weeks after him getting the boot. Absolutely no comparison. It might have been started on a baseless rumour where the poster got the wrong end of the stick. But if we had to lock every thread that turned out to be full of misinformation then we’d be locking most of them. Tom shouldn’t be subject to lies and slander or getting the blame for things beyond his control. The thread remaining open allows posters to challenge said misinformation. Or even opinions that people may be able to disagree with. Given the right information reasonable posters may change their perspective. However Toms a CEO of a football club. If he can’t handle genuine constructive criticism then he’s in the wrong job. There’s absolutely zero difference between him and the manager of the playing squad but plenty on here are suggesting Taylor gets the chop. And the same for many of his players. Why should TG be immune from coming under scrutiny? |

The statement in question where he said on his paid Twitter subscription we had signed a player before released by a club channel, I pointed it this was outrageous he was profiting from this. |

I’ve had nothing but the most professional dealings with Tom Gorringe both as Commercial Director and as CEO. Whilst still CD he surprised me when I asked how The Quarters were looking by inviting me to visit and he would show me around. He turned up late, having let me know he was delayed and in the meantime I was invited into the ‘clubhouse’ by JB - “let’s get you a cuppa” and taken under Alfie Kilgour’s wing as he was recovering from a long term injury.
When Tom arrived he was most apologetic and gave a very good tour whilst asking questions about my views as a fan and as a Chartered Surveyor (which he had quickly worked out I was) with experience of all types of construction. He next said hello in a queue at Northampton asking about where he might find a Lasange (for Wael, remember that?) and surprised me by remembering my name. Similar at QPR and Sutton. He is approachable and human. He isn’t a front of house manager or a football manager that depends on a different set of skills to most jobs. Speculating about his position doesn’t seem right to me - he doesn’t have regular access to the press in the way a football manager does and very few CEO’s have a public presence. I’m not saying he is perfect or hasn’t made mistakes but I suspect it’s nothing like as many as some people are thinking because he simply hasn’t had that sort of control imo. The way he was treated by Abdullatif at the fans forum can be read many ways but I don’t think any of them show him having control (and therefore responsibility) for things other than what he has been told to do. He seemed to have more freedom/control as Commercial Director than now.

I've had a few dealings with him and he was great.
A few via twitter where he responded late on an evening.
Also asked him if he could get anyone from the board and or a player in when we had a family event in box and he brought along the entire board (as it was at the time) and mehew for photo opp.
