Well done Jed and also well done to the new co-owners in tying him down to such a long contract.

Great news. Just what the club and owners needed to do to reward him and show commitment and intent. Richly deserved too, congrats Jed - he's one of our own, hopefully for a long time.
UTG
EDIT - lovely little video too! Good work

Great bit of business, James Trafford went to Burnley for 15 million. Jed has huge potential.

Great news and fantastic show of commitment from both the club and Jed himself to stay and keep developing and establishing him as our No.1!
4 years, possibly 5, gives us great insurance too from any future interest if he does continue to play and hopefully get better over the next couple of years! UTG!

Well done, Jed and the owners. Good to see some commitment.
Presumably 1st choice next season. Keep Hall or get in a more experienced pro to sit on the bench?
With Thomas, Conteh and Taylor that's four youngsters forming our spine, possibly for the next few seasons. (Or ££££).
Edit: added Luke Thomas. 😇

Not to put a downer on it, but when his contract finishes he will be over 24 and can leave on a free. (he is 21 in May).
However, if he keeps on improving at his current rate, we will sell him for big money well before then.

Can't we just be content we've managed to tie down a potential future England goalie to a lengthy contract, it's seems an incredible achievement by the club.

How have you still managed to find a downer with Jed Ward, our prized asset, signing a basically-five-year contract!? This forum is something else.

I’m glad Taylor’s motivational positive approach hasn’t scared him off.

Delighted for him … Well done Lad.
Timely announcement also declaring that if you put the work in and are part of the future then you will be rewarded.
Those that sulk and don’t do the above will be gone whether in or out of contract!

Chuffed for the lad! Be interesting to see if Taylor signs a more exp keeper to battle him for the number 1 shirt next term!

Sorry not League 1 standard and would struggle in League 2 where it is even more physical. Cox is the better keeper but we need to be signing an experienced keeper who can control his area and the defence and preferably 6ft3 or taller.

No way Cox is a better keeper, even if Ward is not yet ready for the No 1 jersey, you seem to have an odd dislike for any Rovers youngster.

We've chosen our number one, get a young back-up for the bench/trophy games and if the worst happens use the emergency loan system the way other smart clubs do....

He seems to have an odd dislike to everyone related to Rovers, not just the youngsters🤣. Ward was in the England youth squad, but he's a non league keeper according to him.
