Massive game for Port Vale and if you are a PV fan and you could hand pick todays opponent it would surely be us.Expecting a repeat of last years no show but PV are no great shakes so we might hold out for a 0-0.Keep the faith (for next season).

After a run of indifferent form against some tough opponents I’m hoping for an away win…for D.C’s Cheltenham against Fleetwood and we can help by not letting PV get any more points! UTG, or more realistically NUNDG (Neither Up Nor Down Gas).

I'm going down the road for this one. Almost as much concerned about finding my car in one piece when I get back as the game! Went to this one a few years back after we got promoted. 2,000 Gas there then, don't expect that many today, but safe journey to all travelling.
Vale need the points and will probably be physical and battling which our softies hate. Shame we can't put out a fans team..... Praying for a win, expecting a loss 3-1 with Martin scoring our consolation.

Where's the best place to drink up here? Awful place.Leave M6 J15 on way home and eat at one of Eccleshall's 8 pubs.5 miles from j14 to return home.

The chronic inconsistency the current manager has managed to create (much like the previous permanent incumbent), hardly inspires confidence and excitement at the prospect of watching us, does it? We'll either get battered again (it will then be the players at fault), or scrape a win that will have Mr Taylor promising a new dawn and he'll take credit. He's exactly the same as Barton in that respect...he never holds his hands up and says he got it wrong. I can't really understand his rant yesterday about the players not being able to defend, as given most of the players have Championship backgrounds, Crama, Taylor, Connolly etc, then surely they've been taught the basics of defending by those clubs, even if JB apparently decided he wasn't going to concentrate on that side of their game. You defend as a team, so no point in just referencing a couple of defenders.

You defend as a team, so no point in just referencing a couple of defenders. We don't seem to win too many 50/50s though especially in the air and when the ball drops we are reacting instead of anticipating. Taylor is right defending is more than being in good positions and being able to pass. Look at the conference game at Lincoln when there was a 30 second spell where the ball just didn't leave our penalty area with a minute to go. Clarke, Sinclair, Mildy, Leds and Manse all threw themselves in the way of shots to keep the ball out. If the same situation occurred this season we just wouldn't have held out. They may be better "players" now but the will to not let the ball go in is not as strong as previous teams. They talk about Martin being a forwards coach but Vaughan Jones would be great just to get the defensive players pumped up and installing a will to win, in my opinion.

They were sufficiently string enough at Fleetwood? It seems if we're 0-0 or protecting a 1-0 lead the players have got the fight, once they concede they lose the will, it seems a mental/confidence issue not that they are incapable of defending which MT was claiming yesterday.

TBF that’s a decent bench for a change, it’s nice to see players coming back from injury 👍 COYB!

I doubt many L1 teams will have a stronger bench when neither Vaughan or Crama can even make the bench!

Just watching the players warm up ..,
As usual the subs group just playing keep ups and messing around - we wonder why we get so many hamstring and strain injuries.
Players just not warming up - there are enough coaches out there to have a word but more interested in other things clearly.
