Hmm, Monk came in on 4th March and has had 5 games in charge. In those 5 games their results were: 1-1 Northampton (D) 0-6 Lincoln (L) 0-4 Reading (L) 2-0 Barnsley (W) 3-1 Wigan (W) Goal Difference: -6 Taylor's first 5 games were: 1-1 Cheltenham (D) 4-2 Crewe (W) 2-1 Bolton (W) 1-3 Blackpool (L) 2-1 Pompey (W) Goal Difference: +2 Even if you were to take Crewe out of there as its a cup game, the next game was a 2-1 Win Vs Charlton. I'm not delighted with how Taylor has started, but why let facts get in the way of a selective memory to beat Taylor even more? Didn't Taylor inherit a team in reasonable form under AM, it looks when he tried to impose his own ideas on the team it started to go Pete Tong? Topper, you are again trying to change the reality into a Gaschat fact. I posted links to the match day thread for everyone of Mangans game in charge. Reread them. We weren't performing. Definately weren't showing reasonable form. Go back and re read the threads, then comment about the games under Mangan.

We were playing all the stragglers at the time. It was nice whilst it lasted but eventually it became clear it wasn’t going to continue beyond the easier fixtures. Bolton, Pompey and Blackpool were hardly the stragglers? It's pretty clear MT's lost the changing room as all the players turned up yesterday as it was a home game. The only hope is that when he gets in his own players next season they'll all play for him. You OK hun? Your posts over the last three days have been bizarre, even for you. If there is something going on away from Gaschat, our thoughts are with you. #bekind

The differences in the performances between those two games and yesterday's was light and day, there's clearly something going on behind the scenes MT has no control over, as apart from Conteh it was virtually the same group of players.

I’m guessing you don’t have the 100% belief in him you once had then 😂 I've never had 100% belief in him - stop chatting sh*te; historically I've probably been his most vocal "hater"! I gave him credit where credit was due following promotion. In hindsight that was a mistake, and I got carried away after the signing of a player who was Premiership standard. Had it not been for the Geordie Maradona, we'd still be in L2 - that is a fact. Excluding that momentary lapse of sense, in the midst of utter euphoria following a shock 7-0 win, I've been thoroughly consistent in my assessment of him as a complete and utter c unt. Whilst I don't normally condone bad language, your second paragraph is spot on. Anderson was, for my money, the best ever player I have seen in a Rovers shirt and I saw my first game in 1967. EDIT He's just been given a standing ovation being substituted having started for Newcastle against Everton tonight.... As to your final paragraph I only came to that conclusion after the Oxford away game when the manager argued that Rovers were far better than Oxford and a week later, his throwing of Thomas under the bus, disgraceful. Kind regards John Malyckyj

What is going on mainly is a lack of personnel or what is available being half fit.
It really isn't that hard to see Topper and you seem to be looking for something that isn't there. Accept it, it's just a bang average squad which isn't bad enough to go down, but isn't good enough to be anywhere near the top 10.
We'll have a couple of purple patches but aside from that we'll mainly be inconsistent.

We've had virtually the same squad for the last 3 games, on Monday the players clearly decided to put a shift in, the previous two they didn't, just like under BG when they all turned all for TC's 500th game v Sunderland. MT seems to have no control if the players turn up or not, hopefully, they'll want to stop AC on Saturday.

I think I'm the only one that thought we played well against Lincoln. Yes, we conceded 5 goals. However, we created plenty of chances to be on the score sheet ourselves. The fact we didn't score is down to a lack of confidence, possibly due to the fans still being divided about the previous manager, rather than getting behind the team that they would have done previously with a change of manager. Port Vale was a bad performance, we didn't really create any chances. Shrewsbury, I thought we were OK. We had three one v ones and Grant Ward fluffed his lines when in a very good position to score. I will worry when we aren't creating chances (Port Vale), however when we are (Lincoln and Shrewsbury) the suggestion of a player power revolt is just fantasy.

Nonsense, away from home fans are totally behind the team until it's obvious we're heading for defeat, regardless I doubt many away fans give two hoots about the previous manager. Not sure CM failing to convert his chances is down to lack of confidence given his scoring record this season! I've no idea how he missed his first chance V Shrewsbury, likewise a player of Ward's ability not even getting his shot away.

Little bit hypocritical there, say I’m talking ‘sh*te’ then confirm what I said 👍🏾 Apologies for not remembering literally word for word what I wrote in a state of Euphoria several years ago. What I do remember - is from the day he was appointed - telling all and sundry what an utter piece of filth he was, and how ashamed I was that he was manager of this football club. For months on end, numerous posters on here threw vile abuse my way. But I stood up and took it, unmoved in my opinion. Conveniently happy to forget all that though eh? Like all JB supporters; "move on, nothing to see here; he's gone - don't want to discuss it any more or be reminded of us supporting a wife-beater. Please, let us not be reminded of our mistakes, stop talking about him". Pathetic. So yes, feel free to take the p*ss about 1 remark I made in a state of euphoria. Trust me, I definitely feel much better about myself than people like you who supported him and idolised him

You were fickle in the extreme. I have total respect for people like Chewbacca who stood by their position, but you changed your mind on the back of a little success and now continue to attack those who did the same. 👍🏾

Topper, you are again trying to change the reality into a Gaschat fact. I posted links to the match day thread for everyone of Mangans game in charge. Reread them. We weren't performing. Definately weren't showing reasonable form. Go back and re read the threads, then comment about the games under Mangan. I said reasonable form i.e. PPG we definitely weren't putting in (non) performances like we were in the last two away games. The differences in the performances between those two games and yesterday's was light and day, there's clearly something going on behind the scenes MT has no control over, as apart from Conteh it was virtually the same group of players. In one of your previous posts, you said that it was difficult to compare the two times in the season, when Mangan was here and now. You stated being safe from relegation and the players minds being on summer holidays. Yet, you are doing exactly what you said wasn't really comparable. When you talk about performances, that Reading away game was very poor. Took a worldy from Martin to get a point. Reread those threads, it's all there. The truth is, we have been crap all season. Under three different managers. One who liked to keep possession for 70% of the time and then concede 4 goals in the other 30%. One that tried to be a bit more direct. One that got a bit of something out of the team until the Norwich game and we haven't played as well since.

Thats a pretty fair assessment of the 3 Gasify.
Taylor will obvioulsy get the summer to build his team, but think we all know his budget will be nothing like JB had (and squandered?) but we have a decent core and hopefully he can find some gems. The missing striker and players with speed will cost though.
10th is probably a realistic achievement next season I am afraid.

I notice you are the only member of Supremes to pipe up, after 4 pages hahaha, on this thread, normally you cannot stop telling every body what they have to think; where is your backing singers lost their voices ? not so up beat now; Monotone captained Cheltenham Town at centre back for one season and they were relegated to the conference, why should anybody seriously believe he knows a lot about defending, ffs he played his informative football at Team Bath and Exeter City under Tisdale 1? time to get the Barton chip off your shoulder. For what its worth if Monotone continues to keep going onto the radio after matches telling every body who will listen that he basically cannot motivate his players and they are frail (which they are not) and take no personal responsibility for the abysmal performances, while ignoring the supporters as he leaves the pitch then his days will be numbered (agree he will get a window and 10 / 15 games next season), That said I doubt you have any facts about the actual size of the BRFC budget, and your reference to JB squandering the budget has no foundation.

I was one of the anti Barton people from the off those of us that felt that way were quite nastily shouted down. It's hard not to feel a bit "I told you so" and also feel the need for some of the super fan boys to admit that perhaps they were wrong. But instead all we see is "nothing to see here, lets move on". I took some of the sh** I got for not supporting Barton personally at times, and that takes time to heal. Some contrition would help, but I very much doubt that will happen. I don't care for the " I told you so" posts from some, but I definitely understand why people feel that way.
