This is all assuming it’s safe standing with renovations rather than leaving two whole stands as they are with normal standing. Because if that’s the case then that’s basically a tin structure over the top of the North Stand bar and probably low quality extensions to the East Stand. I’m a fan of the south stand and I think the Mem can be redeveloped well with an East Stand extension but to me his words suggest that it’s basically the same with the east stand and north stand. Which doesn’t put to bed endless complaints about the stadium and desire for renovated stands or a new stadium. He actually says very little if you just read his own words in speech marks and ignore anything that DH has added. To me he sounds like a total revamp of the East Stand

Just goes to show really that we need to see the full plans before we really know how much ambition it shows

And if this was rovers, half of gaschat would be up in arms about a similar location. With some stating they won’t go again. 🤣

Sounds familiar.
Rovers were at this point in 2011 announcing plans at UWE. Not much difference in the artists impression, but shows how inflation works.
Rovers: 20,000 for £40m Oxford: 16,000 for £100m

Sensible interview not promising the earth financially but not discounting spending some money, reasonable budget, running it like a business, what did make me laugh is when he mentioned all his decisions are scrutinised and all the fans have different opinions.
Prepared to wait and see what happens, not going to comment on player signings until I've seen them play, as we ve all been shocked before and underwhelmed and overwhelmed by performances.

Just a pity the interviewer didn't ask how it'll all be financed? How much is just bringing the Gas Girls back into the fold going to cost if they are turning semi pro and playing games at the Mem?

Everyone is saying that our League will be harder than this year, I'm not convinced. Yes the teams coming up, on balance, are bigger than those going down and supposedly will have big budgets, but no one really knows how those will compare with ours, and as we know, a supposedly big budget is no guarantee of success. As for the other end, I'm sorry, but you'll never convince me that Rotherham, Huddersfield (great history many years ago but not a big club by any means) and Plymouth (yes I think it will be them) are bigger than Portsmouth, Derby and Bolton.

It could be Birmingham City or Sheffield Weds going down and anybody but Bolton going up, which would make it harder with Wrexham and Stockport coming up. Not really sure it makes that much difference anyway when, mid table seems the co-owners aim next season.

full interview up now here www.bristolpost.co.uk/sport/football/football-news/every-word-hussain-alsaeed-said-9247187Interesting comment that budget will be about the same as last summer but will be used "more optimally" with continued references to proper scouting, players for 3-5 years, so hints at not just paying big money for the upcoming season (and then being out injured???!). All very sensible. Hope they have some good targets and if they havent already, offered Pirate a job scouting for the dev squad!

I listened to the interview on having a gas and didn't hear him say the budget would be the same as last summer so if it says it in that post article it could be wrong. Or I could be wrong 🤷

Or I could be wrong 🤷 Interesting! From the article... "Q: Top eight is what you set out in terms of the budget when you first came in, is that the same sort of budget we can expect for this summer? A: Yes. Probably about the same budget but what has changed, and I think it is very important, is the set up for this recruitment. We did not have that set up last summer. So I would say that the budget will be utilised optimally this summer and the selection and recruitment will be done with better information, better signs, better analysis so we hope that we can achieve better results with the same budget."

Talk is actually very cheap. We didn't have a "top 8" budget this season and we certainly won't be having one next season either.
