Paul is very knowledgeable and through his work meets lots of people in the game. I pulled away from the club quite a few years a go, once sorted out was going to come back but changed my mind at the last minute. I am not an insider so canāt comment on what happened but will say one thing I respect Paulās opinion.

Paul/Roadman is a deleted member, we need to be careful suggesting that he's said players turned up drunk etc when it's just hearsay he's said that.

I didnāt go this year as to be honest Iām boring and equally dont appreciate watching heavily watered hangers on who regularly look for a freebie from the club and who worm their way in to such events. Whilst I get on well with our Manager I am also not a fan of some of the hardcore in the player group so another reason to give it a miss. So to find out some more I rang my good pal Roadman for his view on the eveningā¦ā¦ā¦ā¦. Here is what he told me ā¦ word for word as best as I can remember . āMarquis turned up in a right mess ā¦ heavily drunk and got even more drunk as the evening went on, can only assume itās because him and the manager have had a row and thatās why heās not playing - certainly not injured. The table of scousers showed no respect at all to the manager or owner and talked , heckled and mucked around throughout their speeches and the whole event. Clear they all donāt went to be at the club. Overall a flat evening .. clearly some players did not want to be there and at times things felt awkward with people being ignored for photo requests etcā ā¦. As I said .. I wasnāt there but am meeting up for a beer with someone tomorrow night who most definitely was and it will be interesting to hear his views on the events and player attitude. Hoping fresh faces in the summer - fresh attitude - fresh enthusiasm will buoy all of us. Thanks for posting that CG, always good to have a bit of meat on the bones. I may be a bit old fashioned, but, when I saw the photos, I did think that Evans could have made the effort to wear a suit, particularly as he was the main prizewinner.

Roadman has often been the butt of peoples jokes/insults/wind ups/ and yet people get sensitive when they get a little back. I'd expect such people to be a bit thicker skinned than that. Everyone goes to far with each other at times which is why we end up getting involved, locking threads and giving some time outs.

Another thread that percy started as informing us about what happened is turned a tad toxic 4/5 posts later. And then it goes downhill. Perhaps donāt start rumours or actually explain what you mean when you post. Without that explanationā¦ā¦ And if you donāt want to explain donāt start it. Oh well soon be the close season. Youāre right 1981, ādo unto others asā¦..ā Great advice not taken by some. UTG!

Are they rumours or are they actual facts? You can decide on the credibility of the poster but there is no reason for Dust to lie. What's he to gain from it?
I mean, I've heard the same things from 3 different people, 2 of them were there in person, one wasn't but heard it from someone who was, but none of them were Roadman or Dust.
What we do know is that this "Scouse mafia" team became a bunch of Offensive together and scousers typically stick together no matter what anyway so it's highly likely everything that has been said is true.

We seem to be going by the to the BG era under MT, was there an official club dress code for the night, as some players are in shirt & ties, others t-shirts and even some wearing sunglasses, the photos hardly paint a good picture for the club and it's not just the Scouse MAFIA who dressed oddly.
