Shaun Rooney released by Fleetwood Hate him but could be a player! Was surprised to see he is still only 27 But only 1 goal and 2 assists this season suggests he has lost a bit of form?

Shaun Rooney released by Fleetwood We would grow to love him I am sure .... Listening to MT now and earlier on You Tube. 1.Evans has been offered an improved longer contract . 2. Budget wise looking like 10 new additions - won't be the 15 'we need'. I'm assuming he means permanents - 3. Keen to get Luca and Jordy deals done. 4. Will be utilizing the loan market again - Harvey / Elkan and Brandon are potentials to return - MT keen. Maybe some Senior players also in on loan . 5. New signing Discussions are ongoing but nothing crystallised yet. Wants players in asap. 6. Jed very much in his plans but still 'ahead of his time' - Keeper will be recruited. 7. Big fan of George Friend who has a daunting task ahead. 8. Wants to get coaching ducks in a line - McAllister still at the Club - Wants Wayne Carlisle permanent 9. Forum got a mention as well - 'Not sure if you read the Forum' 10. Thinks the owners have great plans and ideas... 11. Expectations are more measured for next season ... Mid table I sense. Patience is key. 12.Appreciates the poor ending to this season and will work hard to do better.

It sounded to me J Ward might well be sold this summer. I can't understand MT's comments about wanting to develop our own youngsters next season when he seems to have just released most of them, also interesting that he said Gordon was released as he won't have the budget to keep fringe players next season.

Good interviews for me. Whilst I didn't want MT appointed I've been won over by the messaging. Rather than "Monotone" I find a consistency and coherency to what he says. I think last season started with too much chat, without actions backing up the words.
I'm optimistic of what will represent Bristol Rovers next year.

I was impressed with the interview, threw some funny comments in as well, drinking pints in Magaluf when his playing season was over, current players too cool for pints.
He is very thoughtful and delivers the right image, just because he is monotone doesn't mean he is boring, quietly spoken so the listener has to concentrate.
There will be no big claims for next season, I'm cautiously optimistic that with a few decent signings, we ll have a team we identify with, and not loath like much of this season.

It was in-depth, factual and respectful to all those released. In terms of diplomacy, it is Barton 0 Taylor 5. He mentioned no names from Magaluf 2006 trip!! He is keeping 2 senior players in Rossiter and Sinclair, who he has identified as role models. Good sign. The budget has been reduced and the owners have accepted stability next season. Supporters will have to accept the bigger picture and manage their expectations accordingly. Evans will be sold with one year of his contract left, which, like Collins, suggests a hard-headedness when it comes to football business. Another good sign. I believe from interview that Jamie Mc situation is being investigated, but Wayne Carlisle is a ready-made replacement as Assistant Manager.

Two fair, measured and balanced interviews with the Gaffer - both consistent with their messages.

My thoughts/expectations on the signings (plus loans). Replacements also needed if any contracted players leave or the 3 offered dont sign extensions:
1x GK experienced 30ish year old keeper to challenge JW for no1 jersey and push him on 2x LB one fast LB/LWB, young and up and coming. 1 more solid experienced LB 1x CB with decent experienced, but not old and injury prone! 1x CM a bit of a terrier to play no6 1x No10 Will Evans or similar 1x No9 making waves in non-league with speed and power e.g. Tolaj
Loans: Baggott Aguilera Fast strong no9 from the prem academies Young speedy winger

Tipped the club off about a fantastic young talent good enough to be in first-team squad who is currently at Brooke House College in Leicestershire and I don't think he's contracted to a club. 6ft+ can play CM, CAM or CF. Attachment Deleted

Cheltenham Town's out-of-contract wing-back Will Ferry is the subject of interest from Scotland, as well as other EFL clubs. A compensation fee would be required as he has been offered a new deal at #ctfc - Jon Palmer….. hmmm

I passed the Oyirwoth tip off to Wael via a third party and Wael queried Visa issues etc, so I replied via the third party he qualifies (or will do imminently) through the Elite Significant Contribution rule introduced last summer, due to Oyirwoth's youth and full international (full debut at 17) appearances for Uganda. So there is acknowledgement, and when I tipped the club off previously about Richard Kone they had him watched apparently and liked him, but at the time there were visa issues and it was also thought not worth pursuing without a development squad at the time.

I know you have fantastic knowledge of a not of players, but we can't sign them all. So if you had to pick one for each position, who would you pick??? Also if we were to break our transfer record on a player with potential, who we could make a profit on, but still afford their wages. Who would you pick??

Is Lawrence Vigouroux from Burnley realistic? I don't know, but if we were in for an experienced keeper he would be my choice. I'd be in for Rio Hillen a 22-year-old LCB earning about £1,300 in the Dutch 2nd tier and out-of-contract. If Notts County were able to sign Ruben Rodrigues from the 2nd tier over there when he was one of best players in league, then surey a possibility. And I would be in for Jordi Escobar a 6ft 2in 22-year-old out-of-contract CF. Zac Williams at Crewe is out-of-contract (according to transfermarkt), but would require compo due to age. Definite sell-on potential. Tom King at Cheltenham big potential and I like the potential of Sonny Cox at Exeter. Edit: But definitely sign Oyirwoth if possible. 🙂

From what MT said, it would seem likely that we'll have a lower mid-table budget next season, which is a little sobering!
