Millers fan here (in peace)
We are currently rebuilding our squad in L1 after the Matt Taylor stint in charge. We now have only five Matt Taylor signings left, two of which are injured, He just kept signing more and more crocked players who had no affinity with our club. Tactics, especially away from home were ultra-negative and we only won one away game during his entire spell in charge. Thought I had better warn you about what he has been like. By the way I have visited Bristol many times over the years to see the Millers play there , and often stayed with friends who were Rovers fans. I may be able to visit again next season. Good luck (except against the Millers).

Thanks but we’ve already noticed a shift towards less forwards on the pitch as the season went on, Chris Martin getting suspended enabled us to try a new formation of 7-3-0 in our last couple of games…even at home. Also luckily for MT we already had our own stockpile of perpetually injured players so he hasn’t needed to take any action in that regard! What he has been able to tell us in his highly entertaining and motivational after match interviews is that although we are blessed with talented footballers they are flawed into making the same mistakes week after week which he as a highly paid coach is unable to train out of them and he needs some new blood in the squad equipped to do what he requires. Presumably that’s two ears to hear instructions, a brain to carry out said instructions, legs to move them around the pitch to where those instructions will be most beneficially employed. Who’d have thought we would have employed so many deaf, thick and immobile uncoachable footballers at the club at the same time?

Rotherham signing Joe Powell by the looks of it. Impressive.

Last night I must have had a dream which included checking this thread on Gaschat and Brandon Aguilera had signed on loan for next season. It was so realistic that I logged on today and couldn’t believe there was nothing about it!

Surely there are some talented and hungry players in the Conference or elsewhere, who could well do a fine job for Rovers?

Surely there are some talented and hungry players in the Conference or elsewhere, who could well do a fine job for Rovers? Undoubtedly there are and we have had success there in the past (including my all time favourite Rovers player - Barry Hayles) but do we have the scouting network and connections to spot them ahead of other clubs?

I think many of us are already worried about similar being repeated at Rovers under Matt Taylor, but 'happy' to give him at least one summer to rebuild with his own players, as many of Barton's signings move on. So far, he's been underwhelming but not quite as negative at Rovers, but we've not exactly been all out attack either - all pretty meh!
Personally, I'm sorry that JCH has joined you and not us and I think you'll have a potent front line next season, with Tom Eaves another ex-Rovers player. I think you are a banker for promotion next season, but don't be surprised if Rotherham get a rough ride at the Mem next season - nothing against the Millers, just we've a pretty feisty past relationship with Steve Evans.

Rumours on Dunfermline's unofficial twitter site that we have made enquiries about 23 year old left back Josh Edwards.

Building a youngish team, with a tight budget to over achieve. Having some money to throw about but relatively nothing in Champ numbers, he came up short. We can worry about that when we get to the champ I guess! Hopefully his summer signings will reflect the former, with the benefit some cash from the likes of Collins, maybe evans and some wages saved to pick up 2 or 3 more like Conteh in addition to those out of contract. Lets see.

So I’m not sure we really needed the warning but thank you for giving the pot a good stir! 😉 Give MT a chance to recruit and GF a chance to develop and as with every manager no guarantees. Except with Steve Evans who I’m sure can be guaranteed to be an absolute tool on the sidelines and be the foul-mouthed, unpleasant cheat that he’s been for most of his career. Some might forget what he did as Boston, some don’t. UTG!

I'm in a minority here but I look forward to Steve Evans visiting the Mem I remember a few years ago someone chucked a pasty over the barrier for him over on the East terrace stewards had to intervene, I also like a crap referree and there are plenty out there purely to ramp up the atmosphere at a somewhat flat Mem at times. UTG.
