Gareth Taylor - done a fabulous job with Man City’s women’s team. Called Bristol City "Bristol" on Sky Sports News last night. He should know better. Or he was winding them up in which case he's back in the game.

don't want to be going over the JB saga again but he obviously saw Rovers as a project, thought he could drag us into the 21st century, knock City off their perch and make the blue half of Bristol proud, he was backed by Wael and recruited /replaced accordingly, we can debate the merits or otherwise of that policy all day and night and get nowhere , it's in the past and JB is no longer here BUT M/T inherited many of components of that policy and from what i read on here (if it's reliable?) they have been less than enthusiastic with the clubs latest change of direction. The point is until M/T has shown the door to those concerned ,recruited and stamped his own policy and vision on the club you can not possibly judge him, so give the man a chance, he has a clean slate from day one next season as far as I am concerned, I wish him well and sincerely hope he is a great success here, Going by the post's on here the last couple months must have been a nightmare for him and I bet he can't wait to show a few the exit door.

Exeter supporters are commenting on the loss of "two of their own". Both players are seen as really great lads who were given their start by "Matty". They are both regarded as solid team players.
Interestingly, there are frequent comments from ECFC supporters about how they would welcome Jevani Brown back.
The most striking comment appeared in a player thread. It might be worth pondering for some posters.
Do you really think that Matt Taylor is the sort of manager who is "happy to be bumbling along in mid table" ? Quite clearly you were completely blind to his highly competitive nature as both a player and manager whilst with us !

Couldn't agree more. This thread has pi**ed me off big time. It's these kind of discussions you would expect from the mob on the other side of the river about their side. Just give the manager a chance and if he he is a success I just wonder how many will be big enough to admit they were to quick to write him off.

Kevin Phillips I think will be a decent manager, not sure why Hartlepool dont want to keep him though Yes, a strange one. From talking to a Hartlepool fan there were some things happening behind the scenes. The owner still hasn’t sold the club after being on the market for a year or so. Might have something to do with it. UTG!

It’s good to have a different pov compared to the meltdown going on in the retained thread. It’s not exactly embarrassing but enough to make you shake your head and wonder about people!! Not that I particularly worry about what other clubs think but they must think that we’re a self-entitled lot when I never thought we were. But I don’t think GC defines BRFC fans! 👍 UTG!

Such a major decision. Why on earth did Birmingham sack John Eustace? Wayne Rooney's tenure there was disastrous and we could well be playing them next season.MT has my full support until Christmas.Let's simply support him.

Birmingham have gone down a rabbit-hole that I think other clubs will follow. American investment/control off the pitch, who then made decisions that - at the time look ludicrous - and across the season look like a self-imposed meltdown. I genuinely think they bought the club, decided they knew best and now have no idea what went wrong. Probably 50/50 they didn't even realise they could get relegated from the Championship, but even if they realised it was a possibility they thought it better to sack someone who had them in sixth because he "...didn't align with their winning mentality and ambition..."

No different from our new owners, they clearly decided to kick JB and the Scouse "Mafia" into touch and go down the route of bringing in youngsters, even though BG failed hopelessly when trying to do something similar. It's really anybody's guess if GF/MT have the ability to completely rebuild the squad this summer or they'll be found to be totally out of their depth.

Not the same scenario but still foreign owners coming in with no apparent football background making wholesale changes with seemingly no guidance from experienced football people.
