We are currently second in the league and yet apparently we can "kiss goodbye to automatic promotion"?! What planet are you on mark me old fruit?! I stand by it , why do you think (as draw specialists of The Conf) we will win the league ? If I may Twertonkid? - We haven't lost a game since October. Barnet have lost four. - They have a thinner squad of first teamers, which I believe will have a harder time dealing with seasonal fixture clogging than our own. - Wishing no offence to lurking Barnet fans, as I think the Hive is a tidy ground in many ways, I think their ground will suffer more from the winter. - Would you rather be around Martin Allen or Darrell Clarke in a high-pressure situation? We need to hit form again after the long break but we cab start that on Saturday.

Whilst I've not seen the lad play before, I wouldn't particularly want to rely on a first year pro to hold the midfield together alongside Mansell at such a crucial stage in the season. With every passing game the pressure (and anxiety) grows, and it's not the sort of environment in which I'd want to introduce a player like Thomas into the first team. But I can see where you're coming from. agree with you really but we haven't got Sinclair for some time and we didn't get anyone with the experience of Clifford, so it's either Thomas or this Bournemouth Lad ( any difference ?) - I'd like to think not - unless our youth/young pro set up is on the slide !? Whilst there may not be any difference between Thomas and Wakefield in terms of quality (although surely impossible to say before seeing Wakefield play for us?), Wakefield has far more first team experience than Thomas having played for both Welling & Torquay on loan. He perhaps isn't as experienced as many would have liked, but I would sooner put my trust in Wakefield to handle the pressure on Saturday than a kid with no first team experience at all? (As far as I'm aware, apologies if I'm wrong).

You can guarantee if we had won Saturday then nearly everybody would be saying what a stupid thread this is. Hopefully we can get a win against Lincoln to shut you lot up. It's more than Saturday though as we've been poor in most of our away games. If we don't strive to improve we'll always be a Conference side? If fans are happy with just signing Wakefield then, sadly, they are getting what you deserve. If we don't get out of this division this season or next we could well become a permanent Conference side once the parachute payments end. we signed easter and dawson as well as wakefield in this window

Since the summer all our signings have really been failures bar Trotman and even he's struggled since his injury. LDV was a success but you wonder how suitable he was for Conference pitches.

Fair enough, Clifford's pedigree looks much better than Wakefield - has played I would guess at least a 100 games in L2. Wakefield - virtually nothing and this season with mid table Torquay. It doesn't fill me with any confidence . Now we haven't got Clifford, i would personally have given our own Dom Thomas (first year pro) a chance to show his worth - he's a midfield playmaker whose been with us for 3 years - even if it's just for a couple of games. If Clarke decided he was good enough and ready then I'm sure he would have given him a chance. Clearly you know more than Clarke though.eh ? This is a discussion board, isn't it ??

Um.... what? LDV was unbelievable Sinclair is working his way towards becoming an all-time legend Jermaine Easter is a coup for this division and could become a real asset given time Trotman has been immense Cunnington was ok in fairness - a decent squad player Monkhouse has looked pretty decent Taylor is starting to score for fun Mansell has been quality The others have generally been back-up signings to add depth One or two players (Martin, some would argue Balanta [but I still feel he needs more time before being truly judged]) haven't worked out but then Alex Fergusson signed Bebe, Djemba-Djemba and Anderson - it happens!! There's a fine line between an opinion and a wild-overreaction off the back of a disappointing point away from home. Let's have some perspective please and stop with all of the melodrama.

LDV was clearly a luxury player for this division, a bit like a Ferrari for the school run, Sinclair's out injured for his second lengthy spell, Easter could well be another LDV for all we know.
Trotman was immense now just warming the bench. Monkhouse simply average , Taylor so good Easter's been brought in!
Mansell the best of the bunch.
Blisset looked good at Kidderminster but not reached that level for us yet.
Still think without last season's back 5 we'd be struggling to make the Play Offs and no doubt that's something which will play on NH's mind in the summer if we miss out on promotion.

All about opinions I guess. We'll have to agree to wildly disagree.

With respect, it is very hard to take anything on this forum seriously after reading a comment like that. Second in the league and only a matter of weeks ago sealed possibly the biggest signing off in the history of the conference and apparently we are failures in the transfer market?! Genuinely, I despair with some of our fans. Considering the squad was pretty much gutted and rebuilt in the summer and we are now second in the league, how can that possibly be deemed a failure to date?

Very true.
But people who hold such ludicrously high demands as to what is successful for Bristol Rovers are dangerous! It is these people who were not happy with top half of league 1 not so very long ago...

Its funny because on the face of it it seems that some are always so quick to jump on every aspect of the club.
The flip side of it is that many (like me) are still very hurt by how things have gone and can't help but fear the worse about anything and everything.
I still think that even though things are good now a large part of the fan base is really only at a truce with the BOD rather than actually at any kind of point of forgiveness.
I think that any future failure will result in a very big fall out again. My main fear is that it will be directed at DC and players, because that would be a shame.

Sadly agree and applies more so to the other forum. Even if we get promoted it will all start again re the high court decision and next years players budget for sure

Sadly there still seems little bridge building going on by the BoD, what happened to the promised Q&A early in 2015?
At least DC is getting the support he deserves not so sure about the BoD, back on topic Wakefield looks another loanee who's hardly going to get any game time.

The next Q&A is next week, Tuesday 3rd March after the AGM
You DO NOT need to be a shareholder to attend.
