In the past, if your team was on Sky, then that game wouldn't be on iFollow. Even for overseas users. However, in the seven years iFollow has existed, I think we had only been on Sky twice! I just hope that iFollow is not only getting our games that are not chosen by Sky. Hopefully that will be the case, the Wigan website has some useful Information on this: wiganathletic.com/news/2024/may/08/press-release-efl-sky-sports-broadcast-rights-agreement/WHAT ABOUT FOR INTERNATIONAL FANS?The existing audio-visual arrangements will remain for overseas fans.. EFL clubs will be able to continue international streaming services direct to fans overseas, where matches are not being broadcast exclusively, enabling those based abroad the chance to watch their team’s matches throughout the whole season This is as a result of a new international TV rights deals, in partnership with Pitch International and Relevent Sports, that will showcase and promote EFL competitions across the globe for the next four years (until the end of the 2027/28 season) Pitch International will distribute EFL rights in Europe, MENA and rest of world (including LATAM and Canada) regions. Pitch will distribute: 155 exclusive Sky Bet Championship matches 38 League One and Two matches All Sky Bet Play-Off matches All Carabao Cup matches 3 Bristol Street Motor Trophy matches (2 Semi Finals and Final) Relevent Sports will distribute EFL content through the United States, which includes: All Sky Bet EFL matches All Sky Bet Play-Off matches All Carabao Cup matches 3 Bristol Street Motors Trophy matches (2 Semi Finals and Final) Looks like it’ll be same as before then with iFollow. Unless one of our Sky matches is an ‘exclusive’ match which is unlikely.

Isn't this just Sky securing football on their platform for the future ?
One way or another the biggest teams will be playing in a European League in the near future, no doubt with its own Internet based TV channels.

Now TV offers access to all sky sports channels for £26 a month for six months, or a 24 hour pass for £14.99. It's pretty easy to set up on any smart TV. You simply pay online and get a code to put into your TV.
I'm not on commission from them, but was pleasantly surprised how well it worked for the Sheffield Wednesday game last year

You simply pay online and get a code to put into your TV. I'm not on commission from them, but was pleasantly surprised how well it worked for the Sheffield Wednesday game last year I've been watching Sky Sports (day or week pass by single payment) via NowTV for years. First it was in the form of a plug-in set-top box, then HDMI stick, currently the NowTV app is installed on the BT/EE YouView box and I understand built into many recent smart TVs and set-top boxes. As a BT broadband customer with BT TV, I was supplied with 2 additional EE TV mini boxes 'free' as a sweetener tor transferring my account to EE, keeping the main BT TV recordable box (BT TV and EE TV are the same with their sports service referred to as 'TNT'). The 6 month £26 subscription (mentioned above) seems to be a repeating limited time offer, which I guess may be offered again near the start of the new football season. If you have good broadband and strong reliable wifi, NowTV works very well and the pay-as-you-need (day/week/monthly options) are convenient for those that don't want to go down the full Sky box subscription route.

So if abroad or on vpn, firestick, dodgy website all games will be avaliable if they aren't on sky+? I still think that's to be confirmed. The statement above mentions overseas fans will be able to watch games that aren't being broadcast on Sky but then goes on to mention various companies who will have streaming rights in different territories. No mention of iFollow whatsoever. Hopefully the IPTV guys will work it out but don't think we'll know for sure until the season kicks off.

Makes me even more glad I didn’t get a Season ticket for me and the boys, but even planning away days will be difficult, fixture list will come out and there’s a high chance it will change. 12:30 kick offs are vile, always have been and always will be. how many sat 3pm games did we have this season at home around 16?reckon you can take at least 5 more of that list with this stitch up of football fans. We only had 12 Saturday 3pm kick's off season just done

I think our game would have to be one of the ‘featured’ games on Sky to then not be on iFollow. I imagine 90% of the featured games will be championship games with a couple of league one and two matches at the same time also being shown via the ‘red button’ or similar. I also think the majority of international broadcasters will only show the featured games and it’ll probably be unlikely they will show the other Sky games that will kick off at the same time.

Yes, that's the point I was trying to make, not clear if iFollow will be available any more as a service for overseas viewers, irrespective of whether you're actually abroad or via a VPN.

Yes home games, that would take it to 14 if you include home games. We lost Exeter, Reading and Fleetwood due to international breaks and Cambridge at home because of the FA cup run. When you break it down from October through to end of December we played only 2 Saturday home games at 3pm!

Not clear if this Sky Sports + will be available for Virgin users.
Will be annoyed if it isn’t as it still costs a fortune and we miss out on things like the Atlantic channel which airs House of the Dragon.

Yes, that's the point I was trying to make, not clear if iFollow will be available any more as a service for overseas viewers, irrespective of whether you're actually abroad or via a VPN. Today's announcement on club website which links to EFL site suggests ifollow is no more. Overseas viewers should get access from a different provider, no clarity on how this will work.

It'll be a bit bizarre if only the USA gets all the L1 fixtures shown in the future?
Relevent Sports will distribute EFL content through the United States, which includes:
All Sky Bet EFL matches
All Sky Bet Play-Off matches
All Carabao Cup matches
3 Bristol Street Motors Trophy matches (2 Semi Finals and Final)
