Absolutely massive test coming up on Sunday, but if we play as we did in the first half then it's possible.

Yesssssss well done England!!! The best bit about it? The Dutch actually admitted they couldn’t handle us in an open game of football.

Best 45 mins so far first half by England, lucky to get Pen imho but we take it, lots of fans calling for Shaw at 1/2 time to capitalise on room given us on left, Gareth duly obliged and our attacking threat dried up! and we reverted to type, funny old game, now we can watch final with hope but no great expectation, but you never know!

Let’s never forget …. Gassy would of sacked Southgate months ago 🙄🏴 Oh yeah happily, and unless we win the tournament I’d still let him go. However, last night was much much better in the first half. 2nd half we fell into our usual traps of opposition managers changing tactics and we do nothing. NL took control of the game and we didn’t do anything to counter it. I was telling my family we need Watkins and Palmer on in this game and I couldn’t believe it, 10mins later we made the tactical change before the opposition or before conceding a goal. And what happened?! We took control and won the game! I will happily give Southgate all the credit for last night, he made the right calls, his subs were perfect.

Although not great football there is a real upsurge in positivity.
The club really should be using this to market Rovers to all the young kids who have put down their mobiles and game boys and started to get the football bug.
Northampton is not the biggest attraction, so why not get the players going to local schools and offering very cheap kids tickets to try get an extra few thousand to try and fill the Mem?
I'm sure a few will be gasheads for life, so that would earn the club a few tens of thousands.

For once England were on the right end of a questionable decision and a last minute winner. It might actually be coming home!

Just wondered if the Ollie Watkins story is a lesson to those who discard players to early, I see Paul Tisdale who managed the young Watkins at Exeter said at one stage it did not look as though he would make the break through then following the well documented loan spells , the breakthrough came back at Exeter and the rest is history, Greenslade for England in a few years anyone? still maintain we are to quick to discard young players.!

Given we're already losing £3m+ a season then how much can we really spend just taking a chance that young players may come good?
Apart from Ryan Bloom I don't believe any players we've released in the last decade have ever come back to bite us.

I just hope he's brave enough to pick the right team from the start on Sunday - and I have no idea exactly what that team/formation is, but clearly some of our first XI are tired and/or out-of-form, and maybe some of our 'finishers' should be upgraded to 'starters'...but I don't see him making any big calls like that...

Trippier is far too right footed. I think Shaws lack of attacking threat was more because the Dutch changed things rather than any reflection on Shaw. Had shaw started the game I think we would have been even more dangerous in the first half because of his ability to get beyond the last man rather than having to constantly cut inside as Trippier did.

How long can we afford to keep players in the hope they suddenly show a huge upturn in form and ability? We can’t retain them all into their mid twenties and the fact barely any prove us wrong suggests we have probably got decisions right on if/when to let our youngsters go?
