Looks like controversy with the women's team. They have announced their retained list, and it is missing Libby Bell who has arguably been their best player and captain. She would definitely not leave by choice. Who is pulling the strings here? I have a good idea I don’t know much about women’s football but I’d imagine it’s the same as men’s football in that if you’ve got a class player who’s clearly head and shoulders above the rest of your team and opposition then bigger and more talented clubs will come in for them and they’ll want to leave ? I watched the highlights of all our games last season and she ran the show for us. Good luck to her I hope she goes on to great things I think in terms of strength, power and ability she has what it takes. |

On my way home from the pub i stumbled through a tear in the fabric of time into another dimension. The things I saw blew my mind…..I can’t say too much as I’m now being monitored….but the sausage rolls are going up 50p and strap yourself in for a cup run. |

Would she previously have been on a contract and being paid to play or is it simply just that the club held her registration like amateur sides? Could she not just be planning to play for someone else further up the pyramid (where she would get paid) next season and and the retained list is simply the way the club can communicate she won’t be playing for them next season?

She was spotted on the other side of the river looking into the window of a serpent shop. As the often used quote goes "You couldn't make it up"

I've heard that a Gas Girls player made a misconduct complaint against a prominent club sponsor, following an investigation the club parted ways with the sponsor. This put noses out of joint as it was a longterm sponsor who funded both the mens and women's teams.
The women's team are on non-paid rolling contracts so you can be let go at any point. At the time of the complaint the women's team were on course to win a league and cup double so they didn't release the player during the season, they waited until the end of the season.
Posters should be mindful of libellous content and remember why the original gaschat was shutdown. Mods should remove posts accordingly especially those about the current CEO who has a wife and kids

What we can draw from this is your determination to cause some trouble which is nasty, unpleasant and mean-spirited. Unless of course you have some evidence to share that something has happened. Which you won’t. Until you have best to keep quiet. UTG! The Women's game presents situations that doesn't normally happen in the Mens game. Wasn't the Oxford Manager having a relationship with a women's team member? I always thought it was weird that this wasn't allowed. Let's say the women's team get a female manager and they then have a relationship with a member of the men's squad, should they both be fired? What if a member of the men's team has a relationship with a member of the board?Is that OK? What if a member of the Women's team has a relationship with a board member? Is that OK? It just feels like Women's players get a bit of a bad hand dealt in these situations. Should we even care? You can't help who you fall for? Didn't seem to be a problem when Karen Brady married Paul Peschisolida at Birmingham City. I think the problem of being in a relationship with your direct line manager would be:- a) the manager could be seen as abusing his/her position of power, and b) there could be accusations of favourtism (or the opposite if the relationship ended badly_ |

The TG bit was only due to us (me) blaming him for everything, was tongue in cheek (actually let me rephrase that) it was self deprecating.
