Looks like a decent signing to be Fair, and looks like Leyton Orient offered a new contract to him at the death but decided to leave. Looks like they have missed out after signing him and sending him out on loan and building him up to the player is Today. 9 Goals in National south, and 3 Goals in the National league at 19 and 20 years old and then Gave him a chance and scored in the last few Years for Orient until a decent return of of 11 league Goals last year. The Beginning of his Career and attributes sounding like someone we have just released but didn't give the chance to get where he is now. I still think he will do well and who knows could turn out to be a Gem!

They probably knew he was off and offered a new contract so they would get a fee maybe? seen good and bad comments about him from LO fans, as you would expect with a lower league player

Just seen this Orient fans view on him;
"Fraud of a footballer. Instinctive finisher, reasonably quick and prepared to run a reasonable press. Absolutely brainless otherwise. Dribbles down blind alleys, can’t/won’t pass, unintelligent movement, terrible decision making if given any time to think, very little in the way of physicality and goes missing from games. Other than that he’s mint. Was never going to start for us this year so I can see why he’s moved on"
a slightly more favourable view from another;
"He is frustrating but has ability, capable of scoring some decent goals with good finishes, works hard, is quick and robust for someone of his size.
But he is inconsistent and frustrating, his decision making at times will drive you to madness - if he has too much time on his hands to think about things he usually picks the wrong choices and he can drift out of games sometimes.
Had his best season for us last season with 11 goals - he's not really a poacher, can play anywhere across the front line, but IMO he is best coming in from the left cutting onto his right foot. He also recently won his first Cyprus cap.
If he'd stayed I would've been happy enough, but a lot of fans get frustrated with him"

Not a natural no 9, but a versatile forward who can play all across the front line or just behind. Good age, decent potential and if we can improve him further and get a level of consistency, it will be a good signing. Good luck to him. Attachment Deleted

I'm a glass half full or half empty kind of guy tbh......but with these 6 signings in the past week I now buy into the plan. George Friend obviously knows the types of players we need, I'm also chuffed as a Badger that GF buys into Bristol Rovers....
Secondly' respect must surely be shown towards Matt Taylor also.....think about it?

Sounds like a young lad still learning the game. Plenty of potential, already keeping high standards (11 goals in first season league 1) what's not to say 15 goals next? Will only get better, best years ahead and all that, sensible signing. Looking forward to watching him.

Also fair play to the pizza shop guy for backing them in the transfer market, as it seems to be his vision that GF/MT are putting together this summer.

Leyton Orient head coach Richie Wellens has claimed that Bristol Rovers are paying new forward Ruel Sotiriou "40 per cent more" than their highest earner after the 23-year-old opted to join the Gas upon the expiry of his contract in East London.
Sotiriou came through the youth system at the O's before going on to make 172 first team appearances, helping Wellens' side to promotion from League Two two seasons ago before scoring 11 league goals last term as they finished 11th in League One.
However, despite being offered a new contract, the Cyprus international opted for a new challenge, becoming one of seven new signings announced by Rovers so far this summer. From Wellen's view though, the finances the Gas were able to offer the forward played a major part in their capture of him.
The Orient boss was conducting his first interview of pre-season with club media and was asked for his reaction to the O's' fixtures with a tough opening trio at home to Bolton Wanderers and Birmingham City either side of a trip to Charlton Athletic. "That just shows the level that we're at now and the level that some of these clubs are dropping down to which is exciting but it's also difficult," he responded.
"We have to respect that some of these clubs have got...we've just lost Ruel Sotiriou to Bristol Rovers who I see as a similar size club to us. Similar attendances to last season. They've paid him 40 per cent more than our highest earner so that just goes to show that the league that we're in is really tough. So we need to drag everything out of other aspects."
League One is expected to be the most competitive it has been for years, if not ever, with Birmingham City, Huddersfield Town and Rotherham United relegated from the Championship while promoted Stockport County and Wrexham are expected to be well backed financially. Additionally, other former Premier League clubs such as Bolton, Wigan Athletic, Charlton, Blackpool and Reading are still in the third tier.
Optimism has grown amongst Gasheads ahead of the new season on the back of seven signings with Sotiriou in particular an addition supporters are extremely excited about. The 23-year-old is one of four new players who has signed a three-year contract in BS7 with all seven having the option of a further season included in their deals.

If so that would put him on about £6k a week a pretty hefty rise from the £1.7k a week he was on last season. And if that is out in the public domain a lot of the others will come cap in hand and demand more! I think Richie Wellens has just stirred the pot a bit there but it could cause issues with any new signing negotiations and other players with in rovers ranks who will be on half that at best!

If a few of the other new signing have been given decent wages to join as well and all on 3 year deals if these guys dont work out, we are going to be stuck with them ( something we are pretty good at doing in the past) I would take it with a pinch of salt!

True or untrue, poor management by Wellens. Don't think Ruel would want his old employer disclosing his new salary.
And similar sized clubs? Weirdly would suggest were a notch above them. Last seasons attendances were similar but historically not.
Really interesting part of London though and I would like to attend the away fixture this season.

Bullshit I say. More likely the players agent telling Orient that and hoping Orient might come up with a better offer for him to stay.

Potentially counter productive too, gives the impression they aren't big wage employers at least in comparison, so players look elsewhere.

How do you get from 1700 to 6000? Well £1700 was his wage he was picking up last year at Orient. Mr Wellens I believe said that we (Bristol Rovers) offered "40 per cent more" than their highest earner which i believe is George Moncur on approx £4200 a week. if he has been offered 40% more than that, it should make the figure £6000 per week that's why i said its quite a jump and one anyone would make at that level. But like i also said i cant believe it for one minute that is accurate and take it with a pinch of salt. It won't stop tongues wagging in the dressing room though!

Orient fans believe we paid £250k for this lad, and think they saw us coming, anyone heard rumours of the fee from this end?
