Interesting Panorama documentary on Trump's second term, the reasons behind his popularity and the implications of it.
I have to say it wasn't the most impartial piece I've ever seen. The anti Trump people were laser sharp politicians and journalists and the pro Trump contingent were ordinary MAGA supporters and....let's say not the sharpest tools in the box.
Hand picked I think to make a point. But there again these are actually the people about to vote for the maniac.

It's an interesting read - and so unlikely as a plan they might just believe it could work. I don't think it will though... On a plain reading of the rules (and assuming the people currently sat in various positions - judges and politicians alike) are willing to break centuries of precedent, upset voters in their states, other states, as well as people across the world to effectively rig an election in the land of the free, it *could* happen... ...can't see it myself.

Spoke to a work colleague earlier, she's from San Diego County. Said how her postal vote for Trump was in, but being Cali and being for Trump it felt a bit wasted. She asked me why Brits are so sensitive about the US political situation and so brainwashed by the UK media to dislike Trump?

One Republican's "brainwashing" is another Democrat's warning of antidemocratic days ahead.

Normally not too fussed, however I am concerned Trump will be a liability especially with a disengaged US. Swapping the question round, why should we be positive about him winning?

One Republican's "brainwashing" is another Democrat's warning of antidemocratic days ahead. Sure. She just made me laugh when the comment was made. For her being American living in the UK as a Republican voter, I guess it's a bit weird to see 'foreigners' so concerned about her countries political situation. The average man on a UK street is unlikely to notice a difference depending on who wins over there afterall. I predict some of you will try to make it important for us but most people wouldn't even notice.

She would answer that. Also note that her point was that we seemed sensitive, it's not her duty to list out pros and cons to sensitive UK citizens about Harrus v Trump.. She selfishly wants an outcome for reasons in her country, not what Dave from Paulton thinks about it all. It is difficult not to hold an opinion since there's plenty of coverage in our media...just that the coverage is a bit one sided.

Makes me feel like we're the 51st State.
