I can see this back firing on them On one hand, I agree with the make it free. On the other hand, it seems a bit 'entitled' (maybe a better word) for fans to expect a free day out at Rovers expense. I can see that they wanted to sell tickets in advance and I can see how that will help with making sure people turn up (otherwise there is no skin in the game for a free event). I think they should offer a £5 drinks voucher or a 2 x half price drinks voucher for each adult that pays. Then, everyone wins...? |

I noticed Swansea's fun day was free, I wonder how many local club i.e City, Cardiff, Swindon etc charge an entrance fee for what is basically a PR event by the club.

I can see this back firing on them Even when we were ragbag this event was free. There used to massive crowds at the first one at Fry's. I guess more people turned up to that fun day than the average attendance during the first season at Twerton. Pretty sure it was mentioned in Pirate News the brochure the club used to issue that the Fun Day had an attendance of over 3,000 when Gerry returned. If we get a third of that this week I would be pretty surprised. I haven't seen it advertised anywhere apart from Rovers related places, so nothing to attract new fans. |

We had a particularly well attended one when Lambert was at the club and was signing autographs in the changing rooms.
It's hard to believe that Higgs was better at organising something than the present owners!
