Legitimate moan. Disabled toilet in Thatchers bar (west) Needs a Radar key to open which is a good start. The number of toilets of all kinds is a different discussion. There is no handle on the outside so the door cannot be pulled shut once used - unless you use radar key in the lock to pull it. In short, once the door is open it's no longer a disabled only toilet.

The menu seems much reduced, is now stuck on piece of paper instead of being a proper menu. Last year there were normally two Vegan options, now only a vegetarian pie which the young lad assured contained Vegan cheese, but other people were unsure and I think he was just saying anything to move you on..... What if you had a dairy allergy ......
Was hopeless during the pre-season matches as well but assumed it would be decent during league games. Gave up buying hot drinks a few years ago due to queues, now given up on pasties as not sure if you will get anything, better to bring your own.

It’s been the same complaint about the bars for years. The catering huts worked much better yesterday. I’d rather have a cup of fountain drink than an overpriced bottle but it sped things up massively - although not sure they’re supposed to be giving them out with the lids on! Big fan of getting piglets back the sausage roll was fantastic compared to the sh**e served up last season. very expensive food TBH, bring my own now

I know this is a moaning tread, but I thought I would share my pro’s & con’s of the first match of the season experience. Arrived at the ground in trepidation of our digital season- tickets being problematic but everything worked fine, didn’t sample the food on offer as used the chip shop on the way to the ground, but on speaking to others who purchased food from the stadium kiosks, said it was expensive but the quality was good. Now the moans, went into the bar under the east stand, hardly any seating provision & only 3 staff, who appeared to be thrown in at the deep end, someone asked for a shandy & the bar girl replied we haven’t got any lemonade, which for a bar should be a basic commodity, weather that was corrected later I don’t know. Great to see so many youngsters at the game, many supporting new home & away shirts, which dispels the myth that all youngsters have gone over to the dark side, but looking over to the family terrace, it appeared sparsely populated, surely the club could come up with some family ticket offer to encourage more fans with children to use that area. Don’t know if people from the club read these threads, but if they do, my little moans could easily be rectified,to enhance the matchday experience.

As you said, ir was great see lots of youngsters and families, the vast majority being in the seated south stand, so not really sure what the club can do with that space now. Possibly just open it up to everybody?

I get good and bad days. Come out of disabled toilets and either get a 'fair enough' or 'WTF is wrong with you' look. Find it a bit crap* that anyone can get a radar key. *pun intended

Wasn’t the family terrace binned off when they opened the old Family Stand?
Swear it has officially been open to all for years now.

Good performance on the pitch, but what is happening in the bars?
Again the lack of soft drinks, wines and shorts etc mean a lot of fans are leaving after the game and drinking elsewhere.
Not everyone drinks pints and what if there is a designated driver?
Bar revenue must be massively down compared to last seasons first two games.
The amount in the people in the bar last night reminded me of a miserable November defeat in the Graydon era.

The amount in the people in the bar last night reminded me of a miserable November defeat in the Graydon era. Which bar were you in? I was in the Clubhouse bar and they had bottles of Pepsi as a soft drink. I would expect the sellers in the fan zone sell other kinds of soft drink. There were 4 people serving and not much of a queue at 14:30. The attendance was pretty low yesterday I thought. At half time, I went to fanzone for a drink and they had lots of pre poured pints. The bottleneck was the speed to payment processing.

Photographers have the entire length and width of the pitch to set up camp. Se where did 2 of them sit yesterday? Right in front of the clock/scoreboard at the South Stand.

When living in France my local rugby club [ USAP Perpignan] ran a token system for drinks. There were various kiosks dotted around the ground which were open before ,during, and after the game ,where you purchased tokens. At the bar you simply handed over the requisite number of tokens and got your beer, without and money changing hands.Drinks pre poured and even with 13,000/14,000 crowds you never waited more than a couple of minutes at the most.

The West Stand/Terrace kiosk seems to have stopped selling soft drinks on tap so only now sell bottles of soft drinks, even though we can't take our own bottles into the ground in case we throw them on the pitch, they also kindly leave the tops on so it could really hurt a player etc if it hit them.
You couldn't make it up!
