Some good, some bad. Alright a lot of bad if Chewy gets his list out.
Never forget Tom was in charge and made the decision, or was part of the team who made the decision, to release THAT Fruit Market video knowing full well it was dead.
Unforgivable.
PS Who is Werton going to email now?!

I met Tom G a few times and spent a whole morning with him once discussing the club and how to improve things. When there were dodgy rumours on here I use to contact him to get the facts, and he was always very amiable, and would give me a reasonable answer , sometimes late a night which indicated that he worked long hours for the club. I know Tom G had his ups and downs at the club, but he soon replaced our sad little shop with a much lager more accessible store when he arrived also used sponsorship money to refurbish the bars and introduced a more modern electronic access to The Mem. People criticised him for the south stand issues but the City planning department was in a mess and if the club had waited for them to make a decision the stand may still not have been built now. Tom was involved in negotiations with local groups and the Green party. I thanked him for all his hard work on behalf of us fans and wished him and his family all the best in the future. I only hope his replacement is as amiable as him and they don't let the progress over the past few years now stagnate. The planning dept went into special measures and may still be supervised by the Government Planning Inspectorate, it will be interesting to see how that impacts, if at all getting permission for the new East stand.

Like so much to do with Rovers, he seems to have done a fairly good job, but it *could* have been so much better....
Was the ticketing good? Well it was OK but could have been better. Was the South Stand done well? It was OK but it could have been done better. Was he good at responding to people with problems? Yes, but why did they have problems in the first place.
...he'll probably do what most of our players who were "OK but could have done better" go on to do - take on a similar role at a similar club and whether by skill/luck/good timing go on to guide them to more success that he ever had with us...

Good luck in your future Tom.
Always thought he gave his best, sadly along with almost everyone else who has tried to make our club better we came up short. But plenty of positives, along with some progress means he leaves with my blessing 👍🏾

On a personal level, I always found him to be responsive and helpful. Yes, he had good and bad projects during his tenure, but I always got the impression that he wanted the best for Rovers. Good luck to him.

Good job no one on here bought a Queen night ticket then?
Mr G ballsed that one up too..... where was the 21st century then? Deficiency and made us look ridiculous by blaming sag....when they should have been one of the first groups to bring in!

The fan zone is never advertised to away fans, if anything the away support are actively sent to the car park entrance. Shrewsbury fan zone was by the away end. No issues. Exeters 'beer festival' was open house. Granted Gloucester Road must be very appealing to away supporters but a bit of mingling in the fan zone is a good thing surely

Met Tom at the Mem not long after he first joined... Will never forget it as during our meeting in one of the boxes up in the West stand where Tom was telling me all about his plans and how excited he was to try and drag our club into the 21st century an advertising board fell off of the East stand and came clattering down on to the pitch. He looked over his shoulder to see what had just happened, looked back at me and just said 'See what I mean!'. It just sort encapsulated the situation at the club at the time, we were a mess off of the pitch.
Whilst there have clearly been mistakes along the way, it is also clear that he has dragged us kicking and screaming into the 21st century and the club is a far more professional outfit now then it was the day he joined.
Of course, you cannot make an omelette without cracking some eggs and Tom certainly upset some along the way (I am led to believe that one or two on this forum had family members indirectly sacked ny TG) . But sadly, football is a business and despite the fact that such a large portion of our fanbase do not like it, it is a fact. We had to modernise or be left even further behind.
The facilities at the stadium, communication and media output from the club all drastically improve under him. He certainly was not everyones cup of tea, but I personally thank him for his efforts here over his tenure and wish him luck with his next venture.
It is a shame that Tom is probably up to his eyes in NDA's, as I for one would love to get his take on the 'new' owners..

Possibly they would with fans from teams like Shrewsbury but unlikely with Birmingham & Bolton supporters, all it takes is one "incident" and we'd probably be forced to close the Fans Zone.

Most of the stone island brigade wouldn't have the balls to kick off in a 'family' area..... would they? If you can't have a fan zone for people to mingle then we may as well give up

A lot of the things we progressed are quite obviously down to his role at the club. On the flip side, the majority of the bad stuff levelled at him is in the main hearsay and assumptions and/or Gaschat facts. Don't get me wrong, I'm sure some of it will have at least been partly his fault, but I'm sure a good chunk of it is either inaccurate at best or completely made up at worst.
I think he did his best, no doubt probably made some mistakes along the way, but overall moved the club forward.
Good luck Tom, and all the best for the future.

Fifth time I've posted this; An illegal betting partnership with Mint Bet, a sponsorship deal with a ponzi scheme that cost peoples thousands of pounds in Football Index, not getting the correct planning permission for the temporary North East Stand, selling season tickets for a stand that was only finished in February, not getting planning permission for that stand prior to starting the build of said stand, releasing a shirt to help raise awareness of disabilities and then less than 24 hours later releasing a statement saying disabled away fans would not be able to attend a game, writing a statement saying any club employee found guilty of a violent offence will be sacked with immediate effect when Barton was arrested only to delete in the day before Jevani Brown was signed, various ticketing fiascos, Queengate, allowing the reduction of capacity of the Mem without the stadium changing in any way, a 29.47% increase in basic North Terrace season ticket prices since 2019 and he's a bit of a wally.

What about the fact that due to some kind of (alleged) manufacturer issue the actual braille on those shirts were only printed on and so a blind person would not actually be able to feel the words out? His surname is one of the few (if any) things that rhyme with "Orange" though - and you'll never be able to take that away from him.

If TG had a role similar to DMc at Posh I think you could safely blame him for all those decisions however I doubt Weal/Hamer/Starnes/Al-Saaed's just let TG make all those decisions without any input particularly when he was only Market Director(?) when the majority of those decisions were made. I also thought SAG imposed the capacity reductions not TG or anybody at the club.
