Griffiths 6 - Bit shaky at times but his kicking and catching crosses was enough to inspire confidence.
Moore 7 - a few wayward touches but grew as the game went on. Looks a class addition.
Wilson 8 - Dominant. And some lovely long balls to the wings. Great if we see a new Wilson emerge who can lead this back line.
Mola 7 - A steady game, some vital clearances, calm on the ball.
Thomas 6 - did ok but ineffective sat too deep. Needs to be running at defenders for me but always puts in an honest shift
Bilongo 7 - a crowd favourite already! I like him, bit raw but plenty to work on, has a great leap.
Hutchinson 5 - looked to try to get on the ball but found a congested midfield and to be fair I thought the cobblers best players were their central midfielders. Struggled but will have better games.
Ward 5 - struggled, too many loose touches but we know there’s a quality player in there
Conteh 6 - did what he does, got around the pitch, nothing spectacular but knows his job
Sincs 5 - not sure where he was playing but he struggled up top against big old beasts at the back. He will be an important player for us this season as captain and role model to our young guns
Omichere 7 - a raw diamond, looks like what we’ve been missing. A handful, and will allow our front players to get up the pitch quicker and play off him. Should have possibly scored a header but good debut.
Subs - all 6 apart from McCormick with a 7
Crowd 8 - loved the banter when ‘seven’ minutes of added time put up!!
MT 8 - showed he can and will make needed changes and mix it up
Cobblers 5 - your classic league one outfit, big, strong, the sort of team we struggled against last campaign.

Griffiths 6.5 not as good as in the two friendlies but doesn't get bullied Moore 8 an excellent debut, a 'stay at home' centre back who is a good reader of the game with a strong tackle he could be a future captain. Wilson 8.5 m.o.m. his best game in the quarters and looks like the Wilson who played for Argyle who was so revered by Barton two years ago. Mola 8 a good steady game and fits nicely in the left of a three. Thomas 7.5 the usual high energy game.he relishes in taking the corners now that Evans has departed. Bilongo 8 another highly versatile player,a real box of tricks, he has a bright future. Hutchinson.6.5 it didnt really come of for him but its plain to see his potential. Conteh 6.5 decent, Sinclair 7 the skipper did fine and probably 60 odd minutes will be the normal for him now. Ward 6 looked out of sorts and with plenty of midfield players available he will need to up his game. Omochere 8 the proverbial box of tricks Jason Roberts took a while to get his first goal but when the first went in the avalanche burst into life, I expect Promise to do similar. Hall Senior 7 very quick, i reckon he will be a regular very soon Forbes 7 steadied things down well Taylor McCormick 8 added energy,he is another who looks fitter and sharper this season Lindsay n.o.l.e Garrett Ref 5 just about average Northampton 6 theyve always been the same, ugly,obdurate but hard to beat opponents and maybe deserved something. |
