Recall when we were in the Conference the team travelled to Altrincham on the day of the game and got stuck on the M6 due to traffic at a pop Festival near Wolverhampton.I lived in Staffs at the time so was only an hour away.Their ground wasn't far from Manchester Airport.Anyway when they announced they had asked permission to add a sub AFTER the team sheets were handed in,the reason given was,'He can't get time off work'.Welcome to non league football I thought. We were stuck in that traffic. We got to the ground, just in time for the start of the match. Unfortunately.

Personally when everyone is fully up to speed I can't see where Thomas gets into the starting line up he just dosent deliver often enough. He deliverd more assists than 89.8% of his positional peers in League One last season and already has an assist from the first game this season. The assist was from a corner so not really creative was it. Just a frustrating player for me gets into some great positions and plays the wrong ball or dosent take the shot on.

If Thomas can't get in the side we'll be back to watching GC type football without JCH's goal, every success team needs at least one player like Thomas. Apart from his winning goal corner on Saturday I'm pretty sure it was his sublime past which put PC though on goal on Tuesday for our only real decent scoring opportunity. That's why I can't take anything you say seriously so we take one player out the team and we would revert to long ball boring tactics, what a ridiculous thing to say.

Nobody in League One on the opening day had more Assists, Expected assists (xA), Chances Created and Successful Crosses than Luke Thomas. And as I intimated, his 7 assists last season was better than 89.8% of his positional peers. Plus last season, his Successful Passes were in the top 93.5% percentile ranking and Chances Created in the top 86.1% percentile ranking. Not bad considering he was restricted for large parts playing in a type of wing back role. From there his Tackles Won was better than 97.2% of his positional peers, Duels Won in the top 88% percentile ranking and Interceptions in the 92.6% percentile ranking. Impressive. 👌

You can use stats to twist any argument and seen you do it before. I like to use my eyes and form an opinion.

You can use stats to twist any argument and seen you do it before. I like to use my eyes and form an opinion. They do look impressive, agreed. I know he won 63 tackles (97.2% percentile ranking) with a Tackles Won percentage of 72.4% (better than 79.6% of positional peers). After two games this season (early days I know) his personal numbers are again impressive - Expected Assists (xA) better than 95.3% of his positional peers and he is top percentile ranking for Chances Created and Successful Crosses. These stats are facts, not mine or your subjective opinion.
