Not the greatest of performances but that happens We should have scored those chances in the second half Man of the match : promise UTG Thought Promise was poor - Griffiths MoM again for me.

Clearly second best. If you were to pick a combined XI of the best players from both sides only Griffiths would make it in from Rovers and that’s by virtue of the fact he had to make some saves whilst Addai just had some fielding practice. We need a striker who is to the same standard as our goalkeeper, made it easy for them because our finishing is poor.

We've now scored in just 3 of our last 14 league games. Different players same result.

I watched the game via a stream, thought we looked ok until they scored.
Stockport then controlled midfield as we chased around without much quality.
Ironically, we had possibly the best chances but spurned them, whilst conceding 2 soft ones (first was a quality strike but we must do better)
Martin hobbling off is a worry, he looks woefully unfit to me, and with Ruel not yet up to speed it’s why we look so toothless.
I’d play Shaw instead of Hutch at home next week, get him running at defenders.
I’m not throwing toys out just yet, but I’m really hoping we have a bit in the budget to get a fast striker in before the window shuts.
UTG

Promise definitely isn’t a goalscorer , doesn’t make the runs that goalscorer make and is reactive not proactive to everything. I think we might have a decent hold up man on our hands with the right coaching but we’re crying out for a poacher. Playing Martin and Promise up front today with no attacking wide men was bizarre to say the least , what was Taylor’s game plan is anyone’s guess.

No cutting edge whatsoever, really quite poor. Midfield too slow and creating nothing for our strikers. I’m largely disappointed with the defence today as I thought we’d turned a corner and looked much better of late. Long way to go so I’m not overly panicking but what we can’t do as a fan base is argue amongst each other and get on the teams back. Stick with them and see what happens in the coming weeks this was always going to be a difficult away fixture.

While I agree a striker is needed, I think we also need midfielder or 2 as well.

1 goal in first three league games is poor 👎
Need another striker in the door as Martin will struggle to be fit for 10-15 games a season.

Anyone else notice Andy Mangan wouldn’t shake hands with Taylor after?

How much did we pay for ProMiss? I would be disappointed if we got him on a free, doesn't look like scoring.

Beaten by a very decent side but most worrying for me was our lack of creativity. We look a lot more solid than at any point last season (missed the 2nd goal so can't comment) but again we rarely looked threatening. Had our chances but we never really managed any period of sustained pressure, that's been the story in all 3 league games so far. Hopefully by next Sat we'll have an extra attacking option. No need to panic but we can't rely on our goalkeeper keeping clean sheets & nicking a goal as a long term strategy

Griffiths made some good saves. First-half we did ok keeping things tight ready to step-up a gear for the second-half but instead it went flat.

Huge difference in quality between the two sides. Our passing was poor, shocking second goal to give away. We battled until the end and were competitive. Tactically they were much better than us, but think that we are going to need to get used to better teams playing it around us this season. Stockport were very beatable but in Barry have one of the best players in the league.

Thought SOME of our guys competed really well today …. But serious question marks on how Ward / Martin get to start and how Garrett who seriously does not look like he gives a sh** gets on ahead of Shaw.
Until we get a goal scorer we will struggle - Promise was excellent today but had no support from Martin and even Sotiriou when he came on.
We must have had three clear cut chances to score and failed each time …. Fail to get a decent striker this week and we will be bottom four come the January window.
Griffiths - 7 Looks a quality keeper now
Taylor Moore -6 No idea why he is the overlap to Thomas though Wilson -6 One off the line Mola -6 Scrapped throughout
Thomas -5 Loses possession way too much Bilongo -5 Constantly getting fouled but kept running
Martin -3 Didn’t look fit or interested - Crazy to start him Omochere -7 Can’t do it all on his own - worked really hard
Hutchison -5 - Another game where he looks like a L2 player struggling to step up to L1 Ward -4 - Really poor again - was bypassed over and over Conteh -6 -Needs support in the midfield
Subs…
Sinclair -5 missed a chance where surely he had to get it at least on target Sotiriou- 4 Think he celebrated his birthday last night Taylor -5 Doesn’t seem to realise we are losing when slowing the play down to walking pace Garrett - 4 Think we have dropped a real clanger here - awful lazy penalty Tuesday- ridiculous booking today - missed a great opening and does not look interested. Senior -5 Should have started ahead of Thomas but had little time to do much.
Stockport -6 Decent strikers and have loaned in Diamond plus Barry who will make a difference for them.
Ref -5 Way too many decisions given to the home side
Travelling support -8 Loud and proud - Huge respect to those who went today and made themselves heard.
MT -5 Needs some honest 121s with a few this week - Maybe let Ward / Martin move to the bench. Ask Garrett if he wants to be here and if not send him back.

I’m 75 next year been a gashead since 7yo .we are sh**e We were 8th before today, in Lg1, with our best start for years, and you think we're sh1te? Memory failing you old man. Uh, well, yes. From a fortuitous home win, barely deserved, and an away draw which was similarly fortuitous. Today should be no surprise.

Not making excuses, but this was always gonna be a struggle. They are top and are scoring for fun, looks like we gave it a go, but we needed a huge slice of luck today to get anything and it never came. Still early days.

Looks like what it is! 14 new signings. Group of individuals rather than a team. Out of balance at the moment.
Still hoping for Coburn up top before next Saturday. If not Coburn then Humphries.
