In the last 5 seasons Norwood has played 100 games in the premier League and 100 games in the Championship…. He’s 33 has topped 500+ games and this is the lowest level of football he’s ever played at…. He’s also joined a team who play out from the back in a settled pattern and style for a manager who’s been at the club for 3 seasons. Not really a great comparison is it. The signing of the summer, VFM wise, in L1? A 33 year old with a three year contract? Just imagine if he signed here and got an injury! Is it VFM, can't say as we don't know what he is being paid.

So zero proof certain posters only post when we lose, just losses generate more discussions. Not sure what's unrealistic about expecting a well supported L1 side to score the occasional away goal and pick up the odd away win. There is a life away from this forum you know, sometimes you get sunshine and everything! Get out more. There’s so much more to life than waiting for the next Rovers calamity so that you can lay into your keyboard. I await the next win and seeing you post as much as you do when we lose and it all goes wrong. Enjoy life and lower your blood pressure. MASSIVE ATTACK - on the Downs tonight ~ can’t wait 😝 🎶💙

Given he's signed for Stockport he's hardly likely to be on mega bucks and unlike the £1m+ transfer fees we've paid he was signed on a free transfer, his appearance/injury record is decent as well. We gave 34 year old Chris Martin a 2 year contract last summer.

I was amazed that Norwood went straight into their side yesterday but he looked very good indeed.. Took County forward at every opportunity.
Sadly our Midfield is still misfiring ... No idea what Grant Ward is being told to do but he has been invisible to me in the last two games - then I see he does the post match interview - Bizarre.
Hutchison looks out of his depth BUT I think he will get better with each game and still believe he could prove to be an excellent signing.
No idea what is going on with LT - Played out of position again - surely he needs to be let loose in the final third at home.

Who knows what he is being paid.

The signing of the summer, VFM wise, in L1? Depends how much they are paying him each week. £10k? Also if he remains injury free and plays most games. Its too early to say whether any player signed this season is value for money or not.

I'm not too sure why you are treating Stockport as poor cousins, have a look at their trading performance: www.stockportcounty.com/club-statement-annual-financial-report/In the annual accounts to June 23, their income was about £1.3 million more than ours.

My God I agree with Topper Gas!! Yes the difference is that Dtockport ,like Wrexham came in on the crest of a wave and I understand with a fair bit of cash input from their owners but at present have a huge advantage over us because when you get promotion you tnd to be able to keep most pf your players whereas we needed a total rebuuild. Defensively i think that rebuild has gone very well but attacking wise not so convinced. I like Promise and think he will do well BUT i think that amount of money could have got us one of the top strikers around in the lower divisions and that is what we still lack. There is also the pressing game which I am not sure that Chris Martin is really going to excel at. We seem to have ended up with a n unbalanced side with far more defensive options than attacking options which is why we still need two more attacking players to give us a balanced squad. How much money we have left I dont know . Personally I feel playing with wing backs severly cuts down our real attacking options and really makes LT ineffective. Sometimes its better to have two full backs and four midfielders with Luke Thomas not so important in the defensive side of things. Overall i think the Manager and Friend have done pretty well and we are definitely much better IMO even at the moment before they have geled. I woul;d like to see Jevani Brown given a final chance because I dont believe such a good player can really go bad though I dont know what he has done in the close season to be totally left out to dry. I suppose we might find out soon!! Whereas I agree wholeheartedly with your post, its worth pointing ot that according to the Sky commentator (if correct),Stockport signed more players in this window than us.

and lose more £ a year than us Stockport are far from poor cousins. They have a rich local backer, who has enough cash to sustain them in the Championship easily. Whether enough to get them out is another matter. They have just signed Norwood from Sheffield United and talking to a Stockport supporter has become their highest earner. Ps sorry did not see the Norwood comments earlier. Their supporter reckoned he was on 10k… a lot for a 33 year old, but you could say shows intent

I don’t get all the negativity on here, if we win next week that’s 7 points from 4 games which for us at the start of the season is fecking great! 14 new players what do people expect it will take a bit of time, I’m sure we will start finding the net very soon. UTFG!

Just getting back after spending the night and today in Manchester. I thought this was a very disappointing performance and a match we should have been able to get a point from. Since Northampton we've started every game the same way by pressing for 10 minutes which the other teams have not been able to handle at all and we create our best chances. Then we sit back for the next 35 minutes creating nothing going forward and allowing the other teams to gain confidence and pass the ball around.
We have to find a way to get something out of Thomas, Hutchinson, Sotiriou, and Bilongo going forward. Get the ball in the box and get shots off. I don't know how many times this season we've had possession around the box only for the ball to end up back to Griffiths?
Overall happy with 4 points at this point with only 1 home game played but we need to figure out some things going forward to create more chances.
