We may or may not have spent £500k on Promise and now I hear Birmingham are on the verge of making a £12 million signing. Less of a level playing field than our pitch

Imagine when said twelve million signing comes trotting out at the mem in the freezing cold in a relegation six pointer! 😀

Less of a level playing field than our pitch Harry Enfield used to do a series of sketches enttitled " i saw you coming " . they made me laugh. so does this fee- it is just a ridculous amount of money for a League 1 player.

Would be so funny to the rest of football if they don’t go up.

Would be so funny to the rest of football if they don’t go up. I hope they don’t even make the playoffs. The amount they’ve spent there is probably still more than our and a good deal rest of league ones transfer budgets for the entirety of this century.

I can't work out what the official fee is.
Some outlets reporting £11 million and BBC sport are stating £15 Million 😯

£12m or £15m doesn’t really matter if that money is available. It’s only considered amazing because Birmingham are now League 1. PL and Championship clubs are spending that all the time during the window. We can’t compete with that nor should we try to. They’ll do well and not just because they’ve got Stansfield.

Before the final day of transfers, it was reported that our nett spend in/out was £565k, so if, as rumoured, we spent £400k on Shaq Forde, that shows some big commitment from the owners.
I know we got a big wedge from selling Collins last season, but we have no idea how much of that was spent in transfers in that window and since. I know the JCH transfer fell through, but it shows that they were prepared to support the manager.
Well done, and thanks for the continued investment.

Given all these signings are "undisclosed" and we have clearly spent a bit of money on a few players this window alone... it is going to be very hard to say what our transfer record is! Add-ons will further complicate these things.
Not even looking at the accounts will be all that clear if we have multiple signings made in the same financial year

As I said last week Taylor as been given a very reasonable budget. I reckon he spent £1. - £1.2 million in 2024 before forde deal. Its possible the money from Evans Collins Hoole and others ( circa £ 1.5 million income ) have all been spent if this suggested fee for forde is true . In other words £1.5 million income / £ 1.5 million expenditure. Either way we are signing players Barnsley Rotherham Wrexham have pulled out or won't match wages. Taylor must have a top 8 budget

My guess, since January
IN Collins - £850K (plus add ons that might now not happen - promotion, wales etc) Evans - £400k (hopefully add ons from promotion at least?) Hoole, Connolly - £50k max TOTAL - £1.3M
OUT Conteh - £300K Omochere - £500K (tho be surprised if all up front?) Forde - £200K Hutch - £200K Soturiou - £150K TOTAL £1.35M
So basically reinvested it all. Have I missed anyone?

My maths are we spent over £1.5 just in 2024 which puts Taylor by far having the biggest budget in our history. Remember these fees are in just in 2024. Plus he's been able to outbid other clubs for big loan signings.
