So far Hutchinson has shown more in his defensive work than he has had opportunity to in his attacking work. To write him off as too lightweight is laughable. He’s 6’3” and likely 13 stone looking at him!! He’s played Northampton, Rotherham away and Stockport away which are three of the most physically demanding games he could’ve played to begin the season and none of those games gave anyone any real opportunity to display technical abilities. It was no surprise at all to see Saturday at the first time we’ve really seen the best of Luke Thomas and he had also found life difficult in the previous three games. The Tottenham game showed he has the technical ability and his defensive work particularly v Rotherham was pretty good. It’s a 50+ game season and to write anyone off after beating Cambridge at home in August is pretty silly really. Nobody is writing him just suggesting it would be difficult to see who MT would now drop if Conteh, Garrett and Ward are all fit and in form. If you disagree then who would you drop for the Wigan game? It's good to see we seem to have good competition for several places as it will surely keep players on their toes. It sounded to me when you said he was too lightweight and didn’t see how you change that at his age that you felt he was what he was…. Personally it’ll be horses for courses. I’ve said it loads in the last two days but judging a performance at home to Cambridge and comparing it to one at Rotherham or Stockport is unfair whether it’s an individual or a team. With Garrett, Conteh and Ward I see a combined total of about 4 league goals added to LTs average of a goal every 18/20 games I think we’ll need more from midfield than that especially as I don’t think we have 20 goal striker and I think Hutchinson offers that. I wasnt that impressed with Garrett Saturday. He was neat and tidy and energetic but he never looked close to scoring or creating a goal in open play and if I’m honest I thought he was dire v Tottenham, so I’m gonna reserve judgement on him til I’ve seen more and until I’ve seen how he copes in a game where the ball is booted from both ends. If Saturday is his benchmark I’d still favour Ward to be the one not playing although I dont see that happening as I think MT will want his experience in there, but as I’ve said when fit I prefer Lindsay anyway….so my actual preference all things being equal would be Lindsay Contrh and Hutchinson.

No way is Hutchinson 6'3". Walsall actually described him as diminutive when they signed him.

I have been to both home league games and did 2 pre-season friendlies so yes I have. And the CBs, keeper, Omochere and Martin all look comfortably bigger. Plus when Google puts him at 5'10" and Walsall described him as diminutive, I wouldn't say he is 6'3" personally.

He ain’t 5’10” mate he’s a lump and I can’t find it now but I read a few comments pre season with people surprised how big he was.
Anyway I don’t think he’s lightweight….you gotta go some in league two to be a lightweight CM and have his nos.

I'd say he's probably 6'0/6'1 looking at him.

Can we ask all the players to report to The Quarters to be independently height measured with an official observer there on behalf of Gaschat - starting with Jed Ward and Hutchinson.

Although if we're not scoring goals as a team then MT will have to bring in Hutch or McM to shake things up anyway.

McCormick is a huge disappointment. He doesnt seem to impact games whether he starts or comes on as a sub

McCormick is a huge disappointment. He doesnt seem to impact games whether he starts or comes on as a sub I'm confused what is natural position is, I thought during the COVID affected season he played in midfield now he seems to be preferable in the No 10 role, but all he seems to do in that role is run around a lot just chasing shadows!!

He looked ok in a few games without a crowd but he only shone because the other players around him were 💩
