So far as predicted, interesting that Jenrick has lost ground to Badenoch. That wing of the party is also split unless (and it's likely) that others are voting tactically. Badenoch is the 'darling' of the membership as I understand it. All I can think of for a reason why anyone with a stable mind would pick Badenoch is that as a black female right winger she has something to appeal to almost everyone. I hope Cleverly gets it for two reasons. He seems marginally more sensible and rational than the other two, and the backers and membership will hate him because he's not attempting to be Nigel Farage so divisions will continue. He also carries a lot of baggage from the 2010-24 governments, easier for Starmer and Labour to deflect criticism.

Badenoch 30 Cleverly 39 Jenrick 31 Tugendhat 20….. and out ! So far as predicted, interesting that Jenrick has lost ground to Badenoch. That wing of the party is also split unless (and it's likely) that others are voting tactically. Badenoch is the 'darling' of the membership as I understand it. YouGov and ConHome had her well clear in polls of registered members - but that was with the full field and not in a head-to-head so it depends where the 45-50% of votes for candidates already eliminated will actually go. Another interesting number from those results is 120 votes were cast. Sunak and Fuller (party chairman) said they wouldn't vote, yet there are only 121 eligible voters - despite Tugendhat's elimination not being particularly close, one or other (and people say it was Fuller) thought it might have been close enough that they needed to cast a ballot...

"So what went wrong? What caused James Cleverly to slump from front-runner and favourite to make the final two in the Tory leadership race to humiliated loser? The answer, according to senior Tory MPs, is that some of his backers "went rogue" and voted for Robert Jenrick in a botched attempt to knock Kemi Badenoch out of the race. It's also claimed at least five Conservative MPs voted for Mr Cleverly 24 hours earlier to boost his vote and make the voting figures look as if he was home and dry, intending to switch to Ms Badenoch in the final round. So the shock result, which was greeted by gasps of astonishment when it was announced by 1922 Committee chairman Bob Blackman, was the result of a combination of indiscipline, naivety and dirty tricks." news.sky.com/story/politics-latest-tory-conference-leadership-jenrick-badenoch-cleverly-tugendhat-12593360?postid=8417158#liveblog-body

Labour (Corbyn, Miliband (E), Brown), the Lib Dems (Swinson) and the SNP (Sturgeon and Yousaf) have all had complex (ie tainted/biased/corrupted) leadership elections...

There's going to be a lot of tactical voting and horse trading throughout this process. If you are asking me to war game, then I reckon it'll look like this: Round 2 - Mel Stride will be eliminated. Round 3 - Tom Tugendhat will be eliminated. The one nation Tories will centre on James Cleverly. Round 4 - Close between them all, probably too close at this stage, but for the sake of debate I can see Badenoch losing on a tactical vote leaving Jenrick and Cleverly to go to the membership. If Badenoch makes the final two, she wins. Boom!

Will be interesting to see how she goes about her business. Carry on with the culture wars and they will fall further down the plug hole . Pivot back to the centre ground and she could be a formidable opponent. Can only see the former happening and another labour victory next election.

Speaking of class wars, anyone spot Dawn Butler retweet this and yet still not be suspended by her party...good job it wasn't about the riots, if it was she'd probably already be serving three months...
