Assume that if he is back fit and in plenty of time, Conteh comes back in for McCormick and its the same side as the Cambridge game? Would like to see Shaw on before McCormick and some more minutes for Forde and Sousa
Think its gonna click Saturday. 4-1 gas!

Think I'd like to see Michael Forbes get a little game time...

Think I'd like to see Michael Forbes get a little game time... From what I've seen Forbes is a liability, thinks he's in the Beckenbauer mould when he needs to focus on getting the simple bits right. i'd be tempted to try him at full back before trusting him in the back three.

Has he played full back before? We do need a little more cover for RB

Conteh will come back in Iām sure but Ward went of injured so I guess there could be some jeopardy around that.
Even if he is fit Iād be bringing Hutchinson back in either to replace Ward or if MT insists on playing him, then Iād replace Garrett. You canāt go through games with a midfield that offers no goal threat and Ward / Conteh / Garrett has none.
My best thre when all fit is Lindsay / Conteh / Hutchinson but I guess Lindsay is still short of fitness so Iād go Conteh / Garrett / Hutchinson.

I'd also like to see Hutchinson come in for Ward, playing alongside Garrett with Conteh behind at DM.

Agree Hutch has to come in really. He isn't going to get up to speed with L1 sitting on the bench, and we paid a fair bit for him. Evans took most of the first season to get to grips in this league and look how much he is missed now

Draw. It's got 1-1 written all over it. I think the same. Maybe a scrappy win for us. On paper, I'd take a draw against a team of Wigan's comparative stature but I think this iteration of Wigan are very beatable at the Mem.

What will the half time score be?

Wigan are another like Barnsley, who have spent many recent seasons at a higher level, 8 in the Premier Laague, 8 in the Championship, and just 5 in L1.
During the same period we've spent 9 seasons in L2 or below.
They finished last season strongly and some were predicting a good season for them this time around. It hasn't started how they would have hoped, but looking at the stats, they did compete pretty well at big spending Birmingham in their last away game.
Like most games this season, it will be a tough test that could go either way.
Conteh should come back into midfield, and if Ward is fit, I expect MT to start with the same team that played Cambridge.
However, I liked what I saw from Forde during his cameo last week and hope we can find a way to get him in the starting 11 soon.
Would be happy with any sort of win for the Gas, but have a feeling it might end 1-1, which wouldn't be a disaster.

What will the half time score be? A smart gambler would go for a double there - get the halftime and full time scores Ā£Ā£Ā£Ā£Ā£Ā£ās

Good to see how optimistic we all are about this team.
When we was the last time we had 0 opposition wins after 30+ votes.

Evans took most of the first season to get to grips in this league and look how much he is missed now I can't see MT can risk not beating Wigan just to give Hutch some game time, either he's showing enough in training to warrant starting or, if not, he stays on the bench. If Ward's fit I can't see him being dropped, if he's not fit then it's fight between Hutch & McCormick for his position, perhaps LM will get another chance at the Mem to show he's good enough, as I can't recall when he last started a game since he signed on a permanent deal.

Thereās no way heās doing anyone a favour to get them up to speed. What I would say is, do people actually think he not up to speed or are we looking through a lense against some very good sides where success was limited for everyone? I know stats wonāt tell the whole story but in games v Rotherham and Stockport he out performed Ward anywayā¦.but the perception is we all saw a highlights reel and didnāt see shots from 25 yards and the ball being sprayed about and were disappointed. But neither game was conducive to this anyway. If you took it in isolation he was very unlucky not to score v Northampton (I think Sinclair redirected the ball at the last second), he shouldāve scored v Rotherham but didnāt make a great connection, he then scored and assisted v Tottenham and shouldāve come off v Stockport with at least 1 possibly 2 assists. Perception is everything but I still canāt get my head around Macca getting the nod last week and if Iām honest I still canāt get my head around chasing a game 2-1 down and leaving someone with a track record of scoring / creating goals off the pitch and gambling on bringing on Kofi! Iām not sure heāll start this week, that may depend on injuries but if he does it definitely wonāt be a sympathy vote or a āget some game time to get up to speedā decision.
