If that’s true I’d have thought you would be more mindful of throwing abusive terms like “plastic” at fans who don’t follow your ideal definition of what it means to be a fan. What is your definition of a plastic fan? I don’t have one and I don’t see the need to create a definition of one which seems for no purpose other than to insult those who don’t fit in to an idea of what a Rovers fan should be. I love football and the more people who also love football the better as far as I’m concerned, great if they support a team and go to matches, even better if they choose Rovers. |

Hugo, I understand your situation. You got a lot of sh.it on here for being against JB. I can understand how that could get you down and lose your mojo. Great thing now is that he has gone and lots of his fanboys have also disappeared from the club. We've even got picnic tables in the fanzone now. Yeah, but I can't return now because I'm not a proper fan any more and I'm scared that the big boys will call me a plastic. 😞 Best way to become a "proper" fan again? Plastic surgery. |

I work in a primary school, the amount of Prem shirts I see drives me mad!! I ask them if they’ve ever been and they look blankly back at me. I could understand if there was an even tenuous family link but no, and this in a place with a Prem team! (Bournemouth)
Far too much media emphasis on only the top division, it really has become a business giant since I was a kid, I get much more out of watching lower league football these days, was up in Yorkshire last week and took my boy to Morecambe v Chesterfield. Great day out, proper fans, close to the action, although my boy got some funny looks as he insisted on wearing his Rovers top.

Kids are wearing shirts from the big names in Europe, PSG shirts are everywhere as are Barca and Real. Those kids aren't really "fans" though and might wear a different top in a few years depending on who SKY and JD Sports want to promote! Even amongst adults, you can split many sports pubs down the middle when Man U play Liverpool, and I've always found it odd. They even call eachother Mancs and Scouse lol yet the closest they've been to OT or Anfeild is under their duvet. There will be people on this forum with kids and grandkids who will wear prem tops today. It's just the way things are. |

Gasify, you seem a decent bloke and we are all Gasheads, you are digging people out for the word “Product”, just admit you shouldn’t have used the word plastic and I actually think you meant no harm as well!

When I hear they are better than the tents, I just feel sad, we should never had tents anyway. £5 million on a prepack stand, stanchions in your eyeline, no concourse, it’s not long term is it. Blackpool did this all around the ground but they had no choice being in the Premiership but it looks so tired now. Wycombe, Oxford, Millwall, all look tired grounds now, we are just throwing good money away.
We showed the care and attention of the new stand by not even putting in planing permission. I think it’s hideous but because we are like the taken advantage wife, we think is brilliant like her being taken to a Torquay B&B but really promised Spain but she says to her friends “Well it was better than Minehead Butlins”.

It’s quite easy to conclude that you meant it as an insult and bizarre to try and now claim otherwise. If they remain faithful and true, see the relationship as equal partners, we both chip in financially then we are off to Costa Rica. |

I just don't find it acceptable that fans sing "We're Faithfull and tue". "We all made a promise, that we'll never part". Then at the point when the club and the players need us fans the most, they turn their backs as it's not an entertaining 'product' or "I don't want to see us lose". We could've been in the Championship with Coughlan, we'll never know. What we do know is the concept of "Product" is the main reason he left. The Rovers fans didn't appreciate him. |
