I work in a primary school, the amount of Prem shirts I see drives me mad!! I ask them if they’ve ever been and they look blankly back at me. I could understand if there was an even tenuous family link but no, and this in a place with a Prem team! (Bournemouth)Far too much media emphasis on only the top division, it really has become a business giant since I was a kid, I get much more out of watching lower league football these days, was up in Yorkshire last week and took my boy to Morecambe v Chesterfield. Great day out, proper fans, close to the action, although my boy got some funny looks as he insisted on wearing his Rovers top. UTG I get what you’re saying but I know that’s very unfair tbh. Since AFCB have been at their present heights it is very, very difficult to get a ticket and if, as you’re saying, it’s children involved then their parent/s will find it almost impossible to get 3/4 seats together. Almost impossible. And the children you’re talking to in a primary school can’t go without parents can they? When they first went into the PL the club, I think, put a limit on ST of about 7500, with the away allocation of about 2000 they have to allow on top of that it only gives about a 1000 tickets to sell so the difficulty is easily seen. Not much chance to get tickets even if they could afford it. What does sometimes happen is in cup matches some ST holders, may not use their tickets and the ground then has more family groups because the club does have a much reduced price at cup matches which parents know they can use. And depending on the primary school you work in and its location then the cost of a family group (2 children and either one or two parents) will make it very expensive. As it is at Rovers nowadays. Bournemouth for its old image of being a genteel, rich place is anything but in certain areas. Over the past 40 years I’ve worked in schools around Bournemouth and was a HT in 4 different schools around the area and became very aware of the poverty existing in the area. But it’s great to see children wearing AFCB shirts around Dorset even if they may not be able to go. Great that you do what you do with your boy but many families just won’t be able to do the travel you do (I know you say you go to lots of away matches). But with other members of the family it becomes more difficult for various reasons, interest/ or not, cost of travel, time and others. 👍 UTG!

This thread has been totally spoilt by two who seem to spoil a lot of threads. Can't you just get a padded cell together and bore one another to death? Mr T - Win tomorrow and 4 points from the next 2 league games and he should be safe. UTFG 🏴☠️ My view is the thread should never have been started in the first place. We should stick by the manager and the team.

Gasify, you seem a decent bloke and we are all Gasheads, you are digging people out for the word “Product”, just admit you shouldn’t have used the word plastic and I actually think you meant no harm as well! Let’s move on, thanks for your considered reply to me above. When I hear they are better than the tents, I just feel sad, we should never had tents anyway. £5 million on a prepack stand, stanchions in your eyeline, no concourse, it’s not long term is it. Blackpool did this all around the ground but they had no choice being in the Premiership but it looks so tired now. Wycombe, Oxford, Millwall, all look tired grounds now, we are just throwing good money away. We showed the care and attention of the new stand by not even putting in planing permission. I think it’s hideous but because we are like the taken advantage wife, we think is brilliant like her being taken to a Torquay B&B but really promised Spain but she says to her friends “Well it was better than Minehead Butlins”. There was a limitation for that stand that the likes of Blackpool didn't have. My view for a long time has been the only real option for ground redevelopment would be rotating the pitch 90 degrees. If we did that, we could have a stadium that we could all be proud of. I agree the way we went about building it and getting the planning permission documents wrong three times was disgraceful. I put the blame at the door of TG and thankfully he has gone now. Let's loop back to this at the end of the season, I think we will have our plans released by then. My gut feeling is that the owners want to add some value and sell the club at a profit. The stadium and the quarters fit into that hunch very nicely. I would be surprised if the new owners are still here in 5 years time. With the wife analogy, if the wife (or husband) isn't prepared to pay their share then yes we end up in a B&B in Torquay. If they remain faithful and true, see the relationship as equal partners, we both chip in financially then we are off to Costa Rica. I think your gut feeling is different to mine. I think tjeh have smelt the coffee like Hani Al Qadi and now are using the reverse gears quicker than an Italian tank in WW2. We must be losing £3/4/5 a year now with gates of 6,000 fans, we can’t even fill the LEGO stand. They have not purchased us for the love of Bristol Rovers, and they have set us up now because the Son swallowed a Peterborough United manual, how is that going by they, I reckon Promise could be the next Tammy Abraham!! We’ve already got the Wonga loan ticking away on the Lego Stand, you are talking £20/30 million to just make the Mem 75% Lego. I bet they are frantically looking for planning permission on the training ground and that’s light years away from diggers and us having a new training ground. If these boys were serious like the Oxford United board they’d be building a new stadium like Luton as well. They don’t have the money for a new stadium, they don’t have the money yo do the Mem and that’s why it’s all quiet. The Dad has done a Hani I bet, Son (Wael), just play with it, we can’t risk the family money on this. Wael is off, I’m pretty sure of it now, just things I’m hearing from other directors of other clubs, who all talk to TG still BTW. We hear nothing of the NBA basketball academy anymore of the US influence on us. I do like an analogy, it’s like the estate agent saying you can spend £80,000 on the house but it will only put £50,000 on the resale value and the couple don’t like the house anyway! We are Bristol Rover Middle Eastern Owners 2 now, only an idiot would do yo the Mem with Lego stands, they can’t afford proper bricks and mortar. My last point, if they were so loaded, why would they be going the Peterborough route, they could have us in the Championship like Brum City next season or the season after, a year at Swindon or Cheltenham and back in a decent stadium?

Yet another roadman post telling us everything is falling apart, cause he has a feeling.
Alternative view from someone who has worked with the owners, shared without their permission (so sorry about that) as most people that ever post anything other than the same repeatitive negative posts have been bored off this forum....
In response to the BRFC statement on the racist abuse Shaq received, but good to hear....
"Caz @cazjmay Oct 27 Feeling immensely proud of the stance @official_BRFC have taken here. Under the new ownership, it seems we’re operating on a whole new level.
Having met the owners and staff, I believe we have a club that truly cares for our fans, players, and community."

I was right over that though, it was just a reason for some to moan. Then one person actually lied to try and make a point which was pretty crazy behaviour. I maintain that if you are turning your back on Rovers due to the performance on the pitch, you are a plastic fan. And there you go again. I don't need to have a definition of a plastic fan because I don't agree to the premise. And I don't need to agree to the premise to know that you are being deliberately insulting. You’re reading this all wrong. He was obviously using rhyming slang. Plastic …. Fantastic!

Aye, but she's got her own cross to bear and this is in itself a sly dig at previous times.(perhaps justified) With Kuwaiti owners, I'd take that statement with a pinch of salt tbh.

Maybe, time will tell. I don't think the new owners have come in with the concept of buying promotion. I don't think they have ever said that. Sustainability has been their buzz word and it should also be ours. I like the Peterborough approach and they get more money from transfer fees that we get from gate receipts. The difficult bit is spotting the talent then improving the talent then selling the talent. In the video of George Friend on another thread at about 19 minutes, he says exactly that. Referring to players as assets and wanting to sell them at a profit. We were never going to have instant success and I do appreciate the likes of Wrexham getting promoted and being in the mix at the top of the table is a bit gutting because why can't that be us? However, let's give them the 2 to 3 years and see where this project takes us. For the record, I really like Promise and I do think he can become a 20 goal a season striker and be worth £2m in a couple of years time.

Reminds me of Elon Musk who hammered Trump 2 years ago and Tucker Carlson who said in text messages he despised Donald as well, both on the stage now praising him. And yeah, the previous regime allowed the manager to publicly talk bad of women, anything now will be better that that. Good luck to Charis, she’s a friend and it’s great bridges have been built with the club again, I mean why wouldn’t the club want to be associated with such a fantastic cause? She is a smart girl, this gives HGT publicly and it’s a good news sell for them. I’d much rather businesses be making statements like this about working with us, I’m not going to get excited because a charity has, I mean how does this help The Mem 2 be built?!

Despite Caz an Lucy being the founders, I'd argue that Rovers need Her Game Too more than Her Game Too need Rovers.
