But it is a continuation of last season’s performance's, but now with his players and in his words are still “under performing”. !!! The man can’t manage and has no motivation or tactical knowledge worth of note - Taxi!!!! 🚕 Conveniently they are no longer his players this week, they are now apparently the club's players. Although MT was claiming during this pre-season interview that he was heavily involved in recruiting the players: www.bristolrovers.co.uk/news/matt-taylor-august-reflections-transfer-window-previewing-september. And that unfortunately is exactly what we are dealing with, totally out of his depth, so he has now reached the blame game card. Taxi!!! 🚖

We’ve won our last two league games. Exactly this so many wetting there pants over a defeat in a pathetic cup which hardly anyone cares about playing a near complete reserve side some of what I'm reading on hear is hilarious. Yes the players let themselves down but that is on them and should have some pride but it looked like most of them didn't give a toss about the game so I don't blame the manager on slating them and massive kick up the backside and reality check is what they need. They are professional footballers but put in the effort of a Sunday pub team. If I went to work and showed that lack of effort I would expect a rocket from my manager and if it didn't improve would probably end up being sacked so what's different here?

Charlton ? Who just beat Birmingham 😮 Ah yeah….they beat Birmingham 4 days later so that must mean they weren’t crap against us. Teams have real off days. It’s football. 11 men v 11 men who can all have off days and sometimes several of them all have one on the same day…. Maybe Charlton had an off day…..maybe Birmingham had an off day….maybe we did v Swindon….But Charlton were crap against us, Brum were crap against Charlton and we were crap against Swindon….maybe that’s just football.

Every time I listen to that interview I lose a little more respect (from what’s left) for the manager. Blame shifting. Blaming fitness….well he constructed the pre season. He put the players through a pre season games programme where barely anyone managed to complete 90 mins. He was still offering game time in the last friendly or two to players who were nowhere near the squad v Northampton when players should’ve been stretching their bodies and completing games by that stage. He commended the work the squad had done pre season. Said how hard they’d worked and what good shape they were in. He’s just stated that it wasn’t just Swindon but also performances v Tottenham and Cheltenham that have been the last straw for some….well who? From Tuesdays game, Shaw, Macca, Thomas, Taylor, Sousa, Donker and Promise didn’t play against Cheltenham, Hutchinson scored and assisted the two goals, Garrett assisted Hutchinson’s goal. So that leaves Hunt, Bilongo, Moore and Hall who played both….did they have no impact or let anyone down? From the Tottenham game Hall, Taylor Hutchinson and Garrett are the only ones who played v Chelt and Swindon, in that game Hutchinson scored and assisted in that also. Macca who also played Tuesday but he scored v Tottenham. By deduction the only players to have played all 3 games and not apparently performed would be Hall Garrett and Taylor but Taylor has been a regular first team player and MT himself was falling over himself with superlatives over Garrett in the Cambridge game…. It’s another attempt to apportion blame away from himself. The more I hear the more I despise him. I’m sorry but it’s the worst attempt at management I’ve seen in a long time. Remember this is MANAGEMENT….it involves managing…players and staff, upwards and downwards. Managing their expectations, their manner, their moods, their nuances and like it or not their lives on and off the pitch in and out of the training ground. Support and manage the people. They are after all people. Brilliant post. I totally agree with you, its really bad management, you wouldn't see it in Tesco's.

We’ve won our last two league games. We would've won the one before that too if he hadn't substituted half the team.

I totally disagree Taylor is spot on professional pride which weny out the window against Spurs under 21s Cheltenham u21s and Swindon U21s. Taylor Moore confessed the players let club and manager down and apologised. The fringe players Hall McCormick Bilongo Hutchinson are not league one standard and need gone.

As a guess I'd say in football it's usually far cheaper for a club to sack one manager than a dozen players? Although you have to ask why this is the second group of players who seem to have no interest in playing for the club under MT, the third group of players if you include Rotherham's, there must be something seriously amiss with his style of management.

Agree and I can’t understand why people seem so oblivious to the pattern forming.

Nothing wrong with calling out a team for underperforming.
It’s when it’s individuals being publicly slated that there’s a problem.

Burton yes But Charlton went on to beat the league leaders in the next game after us. They were awful and their manager admitted it - saying he got his selections and tactics all wrong and apologising to the fans. They obviously changed things quite a bit and improved by their next game.

We had a bad game with players that you could hardly say are a gelled unit in a competition that no one gives a hoot about the players apologised the manager the same, we will probably go on to lose a few more games this season no doubt let's not get too lost in this result, hopefully a mid table finish with the new players getting to know eachother and we can push up the league soon after.
Alot of really negativity on the forum atm I don't normally say my piece as normally just enjoy reading you lot lol but just thought I'd say my opinion anyway.

No it means anyone can put on a performance at any given time and it’s considerably helped if the opposition have an off day. That doesn’t mean anything in respect of your overall quality or potential.

"Heavily involved" is the one thing it doesn't say. Have you read it? "I’ve been in a lucky position this window and this time around because George has offset so much of that work. I have kind of done the easy job of just presenting to the player. The other conversations behind the scenes have taken care of themselves."

Taylor gotta go, been feeling like this since the Wycombe game, he's just not up to it, he's not a ranter, he doesn't get the team motivated that's why they're not playing for him, let's sort this now before it's to late
