For the statto's.... what's our lowest home attendance for a senior game (not a friendly or Covid) ?
Wiki says 889 versus Cheltenham, can we "beat" this against Exeter in a few weeks time ?
Part of me wants to go to be a part of history, but if I go I lessen the chances.

Crowds are interesting.Without Gasheads ,Burton would have had less than 3,000,but Huddersfield on Sat will be nearer 19,000.Same division.Bournemouth 10,000 and Man U over 70,000.Same division. I was at Eastville in our record crowd v PNE.Tom Finney and Alfie Biggs starred.

Likewise no self respecting fan should lose their mind when we get thumped in a competition nobody likes anymore. Nor should they criticise others who choose to attend games of their choice. If we ever were to get to the final, there would be a remarkable amount of hand wringers at Wembley. 🏴☠️

Has anybody really liked the EFL Trophy apart from the final at Wembley, it's not like we've ever had big attendances for the group stages in the past, although as professional footballers you'd expect then to perform to a reasonable level whatever they play.

What's the betting most of the big teams in L1 care enough to get to at least the knock out stages this season? Getting to the Wembley final is probably the easiest way for most L1 clubs to earn £1m+ from one game.

It’s very disappointing that we actually enter it. Probably be punishment if we didn’t, as no club has not entered, to my knowledge.

I support the club, but it will be very difficult to raise enthusiasm for a game in which we need snookers.
With so many youngsters on loan, I expect MT will play a similar line up as against Swindon to see if they can redeem themselves.
Someone mentioned Jocky playing to get to his 300th appearance. If the game was a turned into a fundraiser for Jocky will all Rovers match receipts going to Ian and his family then I would expect quite a few more would turn out to honour him.

I used to enjoy it. Some games without feeling too much pressure - just watching for the fun of it (or not as may have happened). A chance of a cup run and getting to Wembley. Was always a distraction but never that important. But for me, like so many others, it’s been devalued by the prem having to get involved. They couldn’t just let the lower leagues have a bit of fun. Like a big brother who has to join in and ruin the game the younger kids are playing. Took all the fun out of it for me and I haven’t been to a game since.

What’s the lowest ever league attendance we’ve had?
I’m guessing a Tuesday night at Twerton when we we weren’t doing so well?

Likewise I was one of the 2,761 v Gillingham at Eastville 07/05/1985 as well as one of the 4,123 v Burnley 19/11/1996 at The Mem - our other lowest league crowds at the stadia of the modern era.

Whenever I’m back in the country I go to every game regardless of Comp ……. Mind you I’m a self confessed Foamer.

I don’t get the abuse for people who go, I love 90 miles away and if I had nothing to do on a Tuesday night, living in Bristol with the chance to see mates, yeah I might go every now and then. Overseas some fans in their thousands watch the reserve sides, this high and mighty lot questioning people going, I just don’t get it?! I’ve always thought, make the FA Cup winner a Champions League place and all of a sudden it becomes massive. The same with the Leyland DAF (we took 30,000 plus that day!). Winner perhaps guaranteed into FA Cup 3rd round, extra 3 bonus league points, all of a sudden it becomes interesting!

The 2007 Football League Trophy Final was the 24th final of the domestic football cup competition for teams from Football Leagues One and Two, the Football League Trophy. The final was played at the Millennium Stadium in Cardiff on 1 April 2007, the last time that the final would be played in the stadium. The match was contested by Bristol Rovers and Doncaster Rovers. Doncaster won the match 3–2 with Graeme Lee scoring the winning goal twenty minutes into extra-time. 59,000 crowd. No prem league second string teams in those days.
