JB tried playing Ward & Hunt twice a week and that hardly worked out well!

Spoke to him last home game, was walking gingerly, he said 6 weeks ago and that was 3 weeks ago. As others said, alarming we haven’t had a game for 2 weeks and some can’t play Tuesday. Time for a change of manager, uninspiring interview again, take some ownership Matt, someone else could motivate this lot better. It's hardly MT's fault we're still carrying crocks from JB's era? Can't be sure if you are being serious. MT signed something like 15 players in the summer.

Well in some ways he's correct.
JB put the likes of Ward, Wilson and Hunt on 2 year deals on £4-5k per week who have averaged 22-25 games per season their whole career.
That's a massive chunk of budget on players that can't play twice a week and we only see for half a season at any one time, if we're lucky.
To me that's utterly daft and a massive gamble as you are gambling that players will change a habit of a lifetime of being able to play full seasons at ages where you are more susceptible to get injured.
As has been proven, all 3 missed half a season or more with injury last year and Hunt has started this season missing 8 games and is trying to build up his match fitness in crucial games rather than pre season.

Misery loves company.
Reading this thread has some genuinely hilarious, witty, sardonic and satirical posts.
Our position is unfortunate. And, frustrating.
But sometimes this place does help that grief tablet and some of you have definitely made it comedy moments in a very serious situation..

The owners aren't going to get sacked themselves are they, so Taylor will take the fall.

When things went pear shaped last season it was "wait until he has his own players." Now we get suggestions that he's had players forced on him. Hey ho.

Rotherham, he kept them up when they should have gone down. He then didn't get them the results they thought they deserved. Interestingly, they are a Yo-Yo team with probably the smallest budget in the Championship. To me, it feels like Rotherham were always destined to get relegated, it was just a matter of when. Us - He talks a good game. Front foot football, pressing high, pace, quick transitions. However that hasn't really been consistent on the pitch. So, something has changed in MT himself. Did Rotherham have a big impact on his mental well being? Should he have have 6 months out of the game after Rotherham? Is there something in his personal life that is holding him back? At Exeter, he had them playing great football. Has (as some have mentioned) he developed a fear of losing? Or is it the case the players brought I'm were the wrong type of players for the manager? Or is the manager the wrong type for the players?

Omochere is an absolute waste of money - Awful ! I've been quite impressed with him overall. The problem isn't with individuals, it is our general gameplan or lack of. How is any striker supposed to flourish if we don't play intelligent passes, cross the ball from good areas, support from midfield or build patient attacking play? If we were doing those things and he was fluffing good opportunity then sure, but we are so ineffective all over the pitch that all players will look shabby.

BRFC is resembling a failed business with cracks and mould all over it. I'm sure the manager wants to win and impress to better himself and effect the project but sometimes you can be limited by the tools at your disposal. If as a supporter you dine in hospitality and there's no soap in the toilets, or no diet coke at the bar, or the TV has a dodgy picture, or your table is wobbly... How do you think the playing side of the business gets the best circumstances to perform at optimum levels? Some of our new staff members must take on the role, look around and say "WTF"?!

Agree, I rate Promise but any striker in this team and the we played yesterday would struggle, just being asked to do something with balls in the air, on his own and his back to goal 40 yards from the opposite goal

Well you might just have come up with the answer to my question on another thread about something being rotten at the club that I can’t quite sum up the answer to, you summed up what I’ve been feeling for years, there is an illusion of a proper well run football club about us, but scratch the surface and it’s all the issues you’ve stated, wobbly chairs, things taking ages to get done if at all, the smell of pee in the toilets, everything seems still ragbag about us, maybe it’s this rather than tactics of the manager (he still has to go imo) that’s to blame for unachieving players at this football club? Who knows

I'm not sure where to start. I'm not sure there are words that can explain just how poor we were in the first half. I've heard people say that there are at least 4 teams worse than us in L1. Not if we play like we did in the opening 45 yesterday there aren't. We wouldn't pick up another point this season. I don't even think Huddersfield had to play that well.
Marginal improvement second half and a few of the subs looked lively, but how much of that improvement was down to us, and how much down to Huddersfield knowing the game was won, I'm not sure.
I'm afraid Omochere is looking like a bigger waste of money than Nichols right now. Nichols at least had decent technical ability. Omochere can't control a football, regularly misplaces passes, can't play 2 matches in a week, and you can easily see why he only scored 6 goals last season.
He's not the only one, far from it, but I'd be here all day if I started listing every player that has either been inconsistent or consistently poor.
It really does look like it's just a matter of time before Taylor gets the boot. Performances have not been good enough and it looks like wins over Charlton and Burton have just delayed the inevitable.
I actually think we'll lose on Tuesday and that will spell the end of his time in charge. I hope I'm wrong about the result but regardless, I do now think it's time for a change.

Who knows It's a big project with many facets. Fans want wins in the competition of course. Winning matches may paper over cracks elsewhere. The whole trainset requires project management, and clearly defined strategies with responsible people to execute. For that to happen it requires leadership. Not just a chequebook, but leadership by people who understand and have vision. Does anybody on here believe and trust in the leadership of this club? That things are being considered for the right reasons? Does anybody care? - perhaps not as much as we'd think..otherwise you see fans organising protests etc which GAS rarely do. Some fans want to see winning football with little regard for the future 'health' of the FC. Think pompey or suchlike. Others are happy to plod along as the hobby is just that. Everybody would likely get behind strong, clear leadership with decisions being made on diligent process with a defined set of positive outcomes. It doesn't feel like we currently have that and the lens should be focused on the C Suite incumbents imo. I doubt their business outcomes would align with a FC supporters club list of short/med/long term objectives at all.

I have no faith in Taylor and sad to say, very little faith in the new ownership, Wael what have you done!! For all the good Wael did, he has sold us down a river for sure in selling to this lot.. There is something really wrong at the club and something has seemed off since beginning of last season when for some reasons we failed to sign JCH despite him being able to make it across the country to be signed. If there is any truth in the owners getting involved with picking the team, I would respect and understand Taylor a lot more if he said so. Otherwise he just comes across as bit down, uninspiring and unwilling to take the blame for poor performances. It would hardly be misconduct imo if he stated that he isn't the one picking the team.

It was so humiliating to see a video on Youtube today entitled "Town cruise through Bristol Rovers." More worrying it could have applied to so many of our games since Garner arrived. Since then we have picked up an array of Players who do not seem to be that bothered about playing for BRFC. Too many seem to just go through the motions of playing, not investing their whole being into BRFC. Surely out of Garner, Tisdale, Barton and Taylor at least one of them could have created an ethos of winning. We have had one half of one Season under Barton that fits that bill and the norm being indifference and patheticness. There seems to be no long term plan or developement of a culture which should be laid down by the Owners of the Club.
