curious as to the maximum allocation that could be offered to visiting sides these days?
guess it depends on how many blocks of the south are given to away fans alongside the east terrace.....
what do we think that could be

I'm not getting involved in this debate . I been asking this question for years on this forum . When the south stand was built and the capacity increased from 9500 to 12500. I honestly thought my desire come true ( give away fans large allocations).
However I been told the exits : gates at back and facilities along with policing only allow 1400 away fans . In other words exactly the same as before we erected a 3500 stand.
I accepted this answer 6+ months ago and effectively given up raising possible increase revenue from the CAT A clubs .
P.s I raised it as the club could be losing BIG money on away gate receipts.

The interesting bit for the WSM game is if we closed the West Stand and terracing in front and then kept the whole of the East stand and terracing open then WSM could have the whole of the South Stand without any segregation issues.

Do you think they will sell more than 1400? They average about 900. How many do people think they will bring ? I expected 1000 tops .

They have already sold their allocation of 1350 and asked for more, I’m not sure if we have given them any though?

Imagine all those away fans queing through the fanzone to enter the turnstiles, not to mention the anticipated sheeedhead contingent amongst them. Security nightmare for the club.

Maybe more like 2500. Remember, there will be Ted's hoping to witness us getting beat by WSM. If it was the other way round, I would certainly be interested in going in the away end.

The fanzone entrance would be closed. Why would it need to be open? They would be able to enter and exit through the away turnstyles. What would stop them?

Weston SOLD their initial allocation of 1,300 very quickly and long before you wrote this. Rovers have today sent them a further 500 tickets.

The fanzone entrance would be closed. Why would it need to be open? They would be able to enter and exit through the away turnstyles. What would stop them? The issue being that the reason more seats can’t be allocated in the south stand for Weston fans is due to insufficient turnstiles at the regular away entrance apparently, meaning away fans would have to access the stadium from the West Stand/Home South turnstiles.

That makes sense. So the limiting factor to the South Stand is a combination of: Segregation gates at the back of the stand Number of away turnstyles I didn't realise that we looked at the throughput of fans on a turnstyle by turnstle basis. I just thought it was on an overall basis. #everydayisalearningday

Can we build some more turnstiles? Obviously not in time for this game, but for the bigger games to come? Would be criminal to have empty seats in that stand for Birmingham, Reading, Huddersfield etc…

I also assume getting fans out in the event of a fire etc is an issue, as they can't all leave via the east side exits?

I'm being a bit facetious, but in relation to the two answers to my question;
i) The South Stand is all metal; there's nothing to burn.
And
ii) Regarding segregation; why can't the matting just be moved?

To maximise revenue per fan, I would always close the away terrace unless all away seating is sold.
