No excuse for the vile hatred and racism made towards him online. Yes he made a mistake but name me someone who hasn't. If it is Rovers fans they should be identified and banned immediately. Some maybe supporters from other clubs but still unacceptable. I forgot one do not want to be associated with such people.

The only positive is that it has the arseholes name all over it. So hopefully he gets banned and prosecuted as necessary.
Edit
I see he has more stuff he hasn't shared. Hope he passes it on to the club and authorities
All my support Shaq

Agree.
Shaq was probably our best player until the sending off. Two really soft yellows and you can understand his frustration leading up to the second. Probably justified, but with that referee there was no doubt.

I presume it is a one match ban for 2 yellows. Do the EFL trophy or FA Cup games count as part of the suspension?

Heartily endorse all that's been said. Can only add two soft yellows from an incompetent referee whose record shows him to be card happy.

Absolutely disgraceful and I don't want to stand on the same terraces as that person. If in fact that person is an actual fan.

Sounds like the post that Shaq highlighted was actually from a Reading fan.
Whatever, I hope the person is punished accordingly.

I know we are all passionate, but I don't get some of the over the top reactions. I couldn't watch yesterday's game, so I was following on Twitter. When he was sent off, loads of so called fans were giving over the top abuse. You should never play for the club again, name calling etc. He's young, he was stupid, he will know that already.

I don’t think it’s unreasonable to call him out for being an idiot for what he did. However saying he should never play for the club again, direct messaging him or tagging him direct into posts is out of order IMO. He’s probably our most promising player and he needs to be cultivated. He will make mistakes and we will need to forgive him for them. And we certainly shouldn’t do anything to make him feel unwelcome at our football club. He needs us to do our job and support him

The club have issued an unequivocal statement just now. Well said Rovers.
Apologies, as unsure how to share an Instagram post here.

www.bristolrovers.co.uk/news/enough-enoughBristol Rovers is infuriated by racist abuse directed at Shaq Forde in the aftermath of Saturday’s Sky Bet League One match at Reading. Shortly after the match an account on Instagram messaged Shaq, the contents of which contained abusive and racist language. Shaq and several other Bristol Rovers players reported the abuse to us and we, in turn, will assist the Police and Meta in their respective investigations. We will always, unequivocally, stand side-by-side with any victim of discriminatory abuse. The Club is committed to educating on the damage that any form of abuse has. Shaq is not the only Bristol Rovers player to receive racial abuse, with an incident under investigation only last week. Even more sickening is that some of these messages come from individuals claiming to be Bristol Rovers supporters. Each time, the Club has sought to act in the appropriate manner. As we made clear in this statement only a few short weeks ago, We will continue to do so. But what is becoming increasingly clear is the same old methods of ‘combating’ racism - the carefully-crafted press releases and saturated social media posts - simply are not working. Enough Is Enough. We are sick and tired of racist behaviour blighting sport. Our players are sick and tired of vile racist abuse that is thoughtlessly shared in response to performances in their job. Our supporters - our real supporters - are sick and tired of being in any way associated with those ‘fans’ who comfortably send such abhorrent messages. We will not tolerate it. To the person who sent Shaq this racist message, and to any person who claims to be a Gashead and engages in similarly deplorable behaviour, we simply say this: You are not a Bristol Rovers fan. You are not welcome at The Memorial Stadium. We do not want your support. Discrimination in any form will not be accepted at Bristol Rovers and we urge all supporters to join us in unison with this message. Enough is Enough.

Shaq was being kicked all over the place yesterday and got no protection from the ref or linesman who in fact gave fouls the other way which in the end got to him and he kicked the ball away in frustration. Stupid yes but he is a young man making his way in football and made a mistake in the heat of the moment he isn't the first and won't be the last.

There might have been.
The heat of the moment is no excuse.

Not quite sure of your implication. Forde for a kneejerk reaction to an appalling set of officials who justified accusations of being biased? Or posters who had time to reflect on what they were doing?

There were some posts on here suggesting Shaq is a bad egg. Supposedly originating from within the club. All because he wants to play.
If I was a manager I’d want my players to be disappointed they aren’t playing.
If he’s not handling it well, then again it’s all part of a young players development curve isn’t it and responding positively to the situation.
