A largely forgotten match but it does give much needed game time for a few fringe players.
If we have the option to play some of the younger players on loan or recall them(I think Meyanese has taken Ellison's place at Aldershot and I don't think he is cup tied with one eye on a squad place v WSM - was it a one month deal), I would go for
Hall Hunt Ellison Forbes Sousa Thomas Macca Lawrence Anthony Hutch Bilongo
Dewsbury and Edwards on the bench together with a few experienced heads if needed.
No idea of the rules re line ups so might have to play some more experienced players.
We need snookers so no point trying to set up with defensive midfielders - just go for it and try to entertain the loyal few who will be there.

I think you get fined if you don't play enough first team players, but if it's not that much, I would rather pay the fine! Winning the fa cup game, will probably pay the fine anyway.

Just do what DC(?l did with our goalie once, start them then sub them off after a few mins? As far as the likes of Ellison I've never known us play players who are already out on loan in EFL Trophy games. I doubt we'd be too impressed if West Ham asked for Forbes back for one game if they have an EFL Trophy match this week.

Perhaps not make it so obvious this time then! Hopefully we won't get fined for the Swindon game when the whole team failed to turn up for the first half.

Griffiths Hunt Taylor Forbes Sousa McCormick Hutch Lindsay Anthony Thomas Bilongo
Some players still need match fitness and Griffiths even still needs confidence.

For anyone interested the rules this year are:
7.3 Each EFL Club shall play its Full Available Strength in and during all Matches.
‘Full Available Strength’ means the EFL Club must include at least four Qualifying Players in the ten outfield Players named in the starting eleven on the Team Sheet.
7.4 Qualifying Player means any Player who: 7.4.1 had started the immediately preceding First Team Fixture (as defined below); 7.4.2 subsequently starts the immediately following First Team Fixture; 7.4.3 is in the list of ten Players at the Club with the highest number of starting appearances in First Team Fixtures in the same Season; 7.4.4 has made forty or more starting appearances in First Team Fixtures or international equivalents (and not limited to the same Club or Season); or 7.4.5 is on standard loan from a Premier League Club or any EFL Club operating a Category One Academy.

Exeter City visit us in a Group G game of the Bristol Street Motors Trophy on Tuesday 29th October 2024.
The Grecians know a point will be enough to secure them top spot and a home tie in the next round.
This knowledge might result in a stronger and more experienced Exeter team being selected.
We are unable to qualify for the knockout stage.
Motivation might be at a different level for the respective sides in the circumstances.
Exeter beat Swindon Town (2-1) and Tottenham Hotspur U21's (2-0) in the first two matches.
These six points have already secured a spot in the knockouts for the Grecians.
Swindon Town and Spurs face each other next week in the final group match.
We drew 3-3 with Spurs, losing on penalties, before a defeat at Swindon in our second outing.
As of Monday morning The Grecians have sold just under 250 tickets.
Ticket sales for fans of The Gas are at the typical level for this competition.

Will it be taxi time if we lose on Tuesday ? Zero chance of that, unless we get hammered again, lose on Saturday and it might be a different matter.

Will it be taxi time if we lose on Tuesday ? We got a really hard run of games lincoln bolton mansfield wrexham bolton and winnable Crawley oreint next 7. I think 7 points from 7 games will be a good return . However a point a game will see us in the bottom 6. Hard to know the expectations of the club. Is the reality avoidance of relegation ?. Or was it a smokescreen saying top 8?

We might as well play Forde as he's suspended on Saturday. So I'd go with Toppers team with one change:
Hall
Sousa, Taylor, Forbes, Bilongo
Thomas, Garrett, McCormick, Anthony
Forde, Hutchinson
Subs: Martin

As far as I can see, there are no goalkeeper restrictions in place now.

Didn’t I read Anthony was recovering from an injury when he played in Gloucester SC?
I can’t see Hutchinson playing anywhere other than off the left after Huddersfield and Reading.
Also I think injuries may force his hand on starting Martin.

Hall Hunt Taylor Forbes Sousa LT Garrett McCormick Hutch Shaw Bilongo If Shaw plays in a Rovers team this week then surely it'll be in the FA Youth Cup? I'd be surprised if Hunt is risked in a meaningless game rather than in the FA Cup and Forde must be likely to start unless he's in a real stroop?

Difficult for the fringe players that will be brought in to make an impact in a dead rubber in an empty ground, but hopefully the likes of Forbes, Garrett, Sousa and McCormick - and especially Hall, can get some confidence and impact proceedings tonight.
