What a great description of a football club's forum But some of us on here are intelligent, have actually built something from the ground up, lead huge teams of people in big companies which may mirror what the club does eg sales and hospitality, so can speak from experience and successes. Which is why when things go wrong, its more than us just moaning, we can see how obviously its failed. Paul makes a good point, where are the owners when it comes to rolling up their sleeves and getting in the trenches with the volunteers? If you are begging for help you cant swan off in the company Vito for a costa or be away lounging by the pool somewhere. I can't remember seeing Nick Higgs out there, forking the pitch or wielding a paintbrush. The owners' weight is irrelevant, and mentioning it does detract from Paul's excellent comments - it reminds me of a school playground. There are plently of businessmen who have carried a bit of timber, it didn't mean that they were incapable of running a large organisation efficiently. We have plenty of example of our owners' failings, without getting personal. I think that there are plenty of people on here who are intelligent, and have a good grasp as to how a successful business should be run, and can spot a bad business model.. They don't need to post their CV's on here n order to have a valid opinion.

The leadership has been poor for years at Rovers, GD was mistrusted, NH disliked, Wael wealthy but useless, it's probably the same all over football and just the shining stars at Stockport etc stand out. Stop Living in the Past Why dwell on what’s already gone? Focus on the present – because right now we’re on an express train to non-league, playing in an aging stadium, and losing millions. I don’t care about the past. It’s like being stuck in an unhappy relationship today and saying, “Well, my last three partners were terrible too.” That doesn’t mean you should just put up with the current one! It’s the present that matters, we have to start facing it, we are in a proper mess.
Totally agree, however, I have no idea how the fanbase can influence things. Apart from some wealthy supporters instigating a take-over bid, I just don't think there's the stomach for any sort of effective protest on a large scale.

You've got to be a proper weirdo to own a football club, you've just got to hope it's the right sort of weirdo. Ultimately we've had a run of useless weirdos and now we've moved onto a useless weirdo with an ego for our last two stints. There's mixed signals coming out of our current weirdos. An inability to communicate, the lack of investment since relegation and ultimately the sense that there's no over arching plan is a worry, especially as they're seemingly not willing to consider some Dutch weirdos. It's become a classic case of sh** or get off the pot. I think the next four months up to the Christmas period could be some of the most interesting months in the clubs history. It might be that supporters need to actually push for change rather than their historical passive weirdo watching.

It’s the present that matters, we have to start facing it, we are in a proper mess. Do you really think posting on Gaschat is going to make the owners sell up and move on? All we can do is hope they've learnt from their mistakes, the fact a CEO still hasn't been appointed suggests they haven't, or the club gets in such a mess they decide to sell up. Do you really think arguing over who should play in goal, or whether we should line up in a 3-5-2, is going to make DC change the side? I don’t get you Topper. I really don’t. A forum is exactly where we should discuss these things – and sometimes vent frustrations. Reading, Swindon, and Blackpool fans have all used forums to air grievances with their clubs. If our current downward spiral continues, and a protest movement like Swindon’s started, this thread’s 100 pages would be very telling. Are we seriously saying we should shut the forum down and only discuss things we can change? That defeats the point of having a community to share thoughts, opinions, and yes, frustrations.

These owners need to feel heat from the fans and just posting on here I agree isn't going to cut it, but social media is where any movement against them will be born. We used to criticise Wael for lying low for months when things weren't going well but these fellas have never done anything than lie low or "lye low" when they have actually communicated! They completely and utterly disrespect this football club and its long suffering but loyal fanbase. They deserve the same respect they show us. ZERO!

Please correct me if I am wrong, the last statement from Hussain was May 8th? x.com/official_brfc/status/1920508996123033786?s=46&t=bhN6HOKs1kzYSj3KfeKg9QThis is 102 days and counting, have I missed anything on the season ahead, his plans for the club on and off the field? Imagine running a business like this and speaking to your customers! This post is irrelevant if I’ve missed a statement. Sending out lackies who are not even on the club board doesn’t cut it.

Why do you keep bringing up people's weight? Takes away from your points. Very barton-esque Because when you have a couple of over weight desk jockies, who want to masquerade as professional sports people because Daddy can afford it, who want to come in and advise people who have dedicated themselves to a career actually playing professional sports, it kind of takes the urine. It's akin to me sitting in a fighter jet and telling a RAF pilot how to fly it because I've built some airfix models. Now, we need to be careful as we know one member of the WhatsApp group does have a direct line to DC. Has DC said that the owners are getting involved in player signings and team selection and formation? If so, we should be told.

I am going to ask you this out right , who are you talking about with the “WhatsApp group” and who are you saying has a direct line? If my thinking is right then I think you are talking about me. I just want to get this straight before I offer my response.

I’m not sure who that WhatsApp post is aimed at, but just to be clear — the only large group I’m in is my Oxford one where I live. I’m also in a small Rovers group with my mates Adam Craig and Harley Rich, but none of us have any direct line to DC, and neither Adam nor Harley post on this forum.
So, if this is somehow meant to be about me, that’s simply not the case. I’ve no idea who that message was aimed at or who’s supposedly in the group being talked about. Feels like a troublesome post to me.
If the poster hasn’t aimed this at me, maybe he can say who it was aimed at?

If my thinking is right then I think you are talking about me. I just want to get this straight before I offer my response. Yes, you are correct. I don’t even know where to start, but let’s get one thing straight: your post is a disgrace. Dragging me into your sad little guessing games and trying to use a personal relationship of mine to give your argument weight is beyond pathetic. You’ve crossed a line with me today. Here are the facts: • I am not in any WhatsApp group with people from this forum. • DC has never told me anything about the ownership of this club. The fact you’ve even dared to suggest it is insulting, slanderous and beyond the pale. In fact I have spoken to him once since the season started which was me telling him to keep going. Let’s imagine for a moment that your insinuations are true. I am in a WhatsApp group and I have been told something by DC. The notion that I’d betray his confidence is laughable. I have far far too much respect for the man to do that. You’re so desperate to score points now that you’re now dredging up something I mentioned months ago (having a WhatsApp exchange with DC when my stepfather passed away) — and twisting it to fit the latest point scoring exercise. Your vendetta against one poster and anyone connected to them — it’s embarrassing and I am sick to the back teeth of it. I’ll DM you my number and if you want to talk about this then call me. I am done with this forum and more specifically, you.

Just like the recent attempt to pin the “Hussain buying the club for his son” comment on me, we now have this latest suggestion: If DC has been told how to pick the side by Abdul — “if so, we should be told.”
Once again, it’s another example of trying to stir up trouble, create something out of nothing, and paint a poster as dishonest or questionable. These things always spiral into pages of back-and-forth, when in reality the wider fanbase doesn’t seem remotely concerned. (Last time, the claim was made out to be so serious that someone might return their ST, despite nobody else being bothered by the so-called “Father bought a club for his son” line.)
For the record, I find it appalling that Ash has even had to defend himself here — let alone have his private conversations with DC dragged into some fictional WhatsApp group narrative. At the end of the day, there’s a friendship at stake, and it shouldn’t be put through the mill because of baseless forum gossip.
