I honestly can't see anything but wins for Barnet and Grimsby on Monday against two poor sides in or around the relegation zone. We have the hardest game of the three. So we'd better win, I think. I would turn that on it'so head and say we are the only ones playing a team with nothing to play for. Also Barnet's game is in 43 hours from now.

I hope you're right, but these teams with nothing to play for worry me. Was it 2012 under Mcghee where once we were safe we started scoring loads towards the end of the season - 5-1,7-1? And don't even get me started on Mansfield last year....

f it.
If I can't blow my own trumpet today when can I.
here are my stats / analysis from before the game...
Mid-table jitters
Grimsby may have the best away record in the league, but only have the 8th best home record.
They have only won 2 of their 8 home games (and got 8 points) against teams currently placed between 10th and 18th in the table.
They have three home games left - against 9th, 15th and 19th.
call me a crazy optimist but I reckon Grimsby have a far harder next 3 games than some people think.
H to gateshead, who are not a bad team. grimsby have poor home record especially against middling teams.
A to Alfreton, who are in a 7 match unbeaten run and just held Barnet at home. They have drawn at home to us, Barnet and FGR. May want revenge for a 7-0 drubbing very early in the season when suffering an awful start to the campaign.
H to Wrexham, who may well have a new manager bounce.
TBH, if they win both Easter games they probably deserve to go top. I wager they won't win both though.

I think Grimsby will think they have now blown it. Barnet will now need to mess up twice to allow Grimsby to overtake them. With 4 games to go they will be really down (hopefully)

Before you all bring out your pitch forks and assemble a linch mob. It was an honest mistake read my posts after. It was Grimsby I was lookin at the wrong line. And as for people saying I should get my marching orders GET REAL not even sheeds get the boot. On appeal I suucest the red card is reduced to a fellow card as it was an unintentional foul.. That leaves Merthyr one yelow away from a two match ban.

I'd argue we have the easiest of the three games. Kidderminster are awful, can't buy a win at the moment. And with nothing to play for. when I quickly read that I thought it said "And with nothing to pay for". which is quite apt. didn't pay their staff & players full wages for March (just like Feb...). Apparently they will get the rest after a certain BRFC come to town. I think we should boycott food and drink in the ground unless we get a win! :ballkick:And accidentally delay the money we took in ticket sales until the result is guaranteed.. nudge nudge wink wink.

Yeah Grimsby are out of the running for now as they need Barnet to slip up twice now. We have more momentum than Barnet, we CAN do this. We WILL do this.

I'm afraid Wrexham have taken back their highest attendance in the Conference this season crown. www.bbc.co.uk/sport/0/football/3209808424,768 watched their match. I imagine Alfreton must have brought a fair few to raise Wrexham's gate so much.

Being the later kick off could play in our hands Monday. If Barnet don't win then a draw is not a bad result but if they do then we know we HAVE to win.

Let's make Monday a home game for the players. Nothing to fear. I usually scratch my balls at 2.56, roughly clear my throat at 2.57, belch at 2.58, and shout 'Taylor you are Dam sh**' about 2.59. is that what you mean?

I think that the stars are aligning in our favour - Barnet will falter again before the season ends, and Grimsby have lost a bit of their impetus.

Thrilled with this. Genuinely don't believe Barnet are worthy champions, Grimsby slipping up puts us in control. Come on!

I think that's a Tad unfair on Barnet , if they do win they'd be worthy champions as they've been top pretty much all season. Saying that ...... We'd be much more worthy cos we're Gas innit !!

Thrilled with this. Genuinely don't believe Barnet are worthy champions, Grimsby slipping up puts us in control. Come on! harsh. +42 GD. beat us 2-0. Tiny crowds. Recently kicked-out of century old ground / moved elsewhere [6 miles away!]. If 2 went up automatically I suspect we'd be bumchums, hugging each other. the animosity is just due to anxiety and some jealousy. oh and Allen being a lady garden.

Why the f..k did he say that I got my wires crossed it was Grimsby who equalised. Hence my other post 'WTF BBC is tripping' Merthyr I cursed you at the time but with all this tension an easy mistake to make. I wish we could follow the FD's example (reverse physchology) and just be in the automatic spot for 70 minutes and go up!!!!!

Another side who had nothing to play for. It is advantageous to be playing these teams in general.
