Just because there are many fans who are fickle, it doesn't mean the likes of myself or gashead73 are. You are alone. Don't try and buy friends on here sunshine. Hey?

In pre-season DC gave me his email address and said to email if i had any issues or questions. That itself was a nice touch but I obviously didn't want to use it or harrass him etc haha. Today I sent my first, and likely last, email to him. Here is his response: Will we ever have a manager like this again? Legend in the making. The thing that stands out is when he says "as long as the board give me a competitive budget ". Has this not been decided yet?

There were a lot of prominent forumers who proclaimed that they would not watch non-league football or won't go as long as DC is in charge, TW is on the board, higgs runs the club blah blah blah.
Many of whom I'm sure went to Wembley and probably other games throughout the season.
Plenty of us have questioned signings or other decisions made by the club.
I went through about a 5yr period where I barely attended a game for various reasons and completely got out of the football habit.
I would respectfully suggest that all of us are fickle at times.
Any kind of "my shitt doesn't stink" attitude is a falsehood.

I wonder if DCs budget this year will be more, or less, than when he was assistant to JW? Mr Higgs said some positive words at the Mem about this season(Cant remember exactly) so he is keen.

It's easy to be positive when we have just gone up and want to sell as many season tickets as possible though, so I choose not to read too much into that.

Exactly! Everyone loves him cause we won games and got promotion, thats great but just remember we are as fickle as any other fanbase Just because there are many fans who are fickle, it doesn't mean the likes of myself or gashead73 are. I didn't say it does, you reserve your fickleness for other areas.

When we appointed Buckle as manager I thought we were appointing a successful up and coming young manager who likes to play attacking football. Instead we got an arrogant **** with a shocking defence. Clarke is a young manager who has like Buckle had success outside of the league. However, unlike Buckle seems a much more decent guy and has already accepted some blame for our failings which Buckle never did. We are signing young and hungry players. Buckle promised to reduce the wage bill and get good value out of players which may be the case for aims but Clarke has also demonstrated today that he isn't going to be prepared to pay over the odds in wages to keep players here like Lee Brown which can only be a good thing going forwards. Clarke says all the right things but so did Buckle. I think Clarke could be the right man, I just hope Clarke really can be what we expected Buckle to be, we as fans deserve it. Great post!

You can't be loved more than you already are ! I know! Always striving for better though. On a serious note, I do enjoy reading back through old posts, it's interesting to see how things can pan out.

Yes, whilst I have a feeling Clarke is the right man for us, I still don't think he will take us up. I think the board are once again showing a lack of ambition. Clarke has done well to sign 2 half decent strikers by the sounds of things both on a free and keep Brown on a reasonable wage. We are only looking at signing 2 or 3 new players which shows me that the board are lacking the ambition to trying going back up at the first attempt. To say you never doubted him isn't exactly true, if you didn't back him to get us promoted one league let alone two! Nobody enjoys an "I told you so" kind of guy. Comes across very sad.

Deleting old posts when caught cold and bumping the posts which you think will give you kudos. Very sad, I'm afraid people like you are one of the reasons this forum doesn't have a larger amount of regular return users.

Nothing less will suffice
