Have done a bit of research and most of the High Street Banks off a "Treasurer" account for this type of set up. I will choose one as close to me as possible so I can pay in cash as and when required I will get the forms Monday and then meet up with Jon before opening the account Its a free banking service and should be able to get one that pays some nominal interest Looking forward to getting this up and running ASAP Well done Parrot, always good to have a QS on board when trying to build something! The ability to pay direct into an account using Internet banking would be very helpful as some us don't use paypal.

Hi guys, I am very happy to help you out, I can provide a solution that would sit on your website that members could use or provide you with hardware. I am very happy to meet up to discuss. I saved the supporters club over £2k per year on their previous suppliers.
Let me know

We will see what Parrot finds out on Monday and hopefully we will have a starting point and if we need card payments to make it easier for people we will look at it. Thoughts everyone?

I think it should be AN option. You can link a paypal account to a bank account though so possibly would be a good idea. Might take the pressure off yourself if it could run with maybe parrot having access too to release funds if needed. PayPal shouldn't be dropped though. Its safe, secure and tried and tested. Linking to a bank account would give members the option to join ad hoc on a match day when they have a spare tenner. If the books are kept in top order, people could even pay half membership for half a year if spare dollar is hard to come by? agree with this. don;t drop paypal completely. paypal can easily be linked to a bank account, which not only makes paypal more 'secure' for the punter (because you have proved the bank account is run by you, and the bank has proved you are who you say you are), but also then makes withdraws into the bank account as easy as a press of a button. people don;t have to have a paypal account in order to pay by htta methid. they can use their cardto pay paypal, whothen pay you. as you found out last season you can also avoid paypal fees if people pay you the 'right' way.

On the subject of design, what do you all think of this new logo idea? Jon I appreciate I'm probably swimming against the tide here but I've never liked the prominent use of 'FFS' (rather than FFSC) due to the other, more well know, use of FFS (i.e. for f**k's sake) How do I explain that to a kid? or anyone really. It's not necessary IMO and just gives fuel to the people who think all footy fans are foul mouthed. It's like French Connection deliberately playing on the F##k abbreviation and its blatently obvious anagram, when it already has a suitable and harmless name.

I agree PayPal is a good solution if you are taking very few transactions but I think they will view it as a business & they do charge for this. Another option that maybe worth a look is Go Cardless, it is essentially a direct debit solution & they will charge you 1% of the fee. But it is really easy to implement. I could help get this set up no problem. As I said earlier I'm very happy to help out & do what I can for the FFS.

Mark (Brimson) has sorted out Merchant Services (Chip & Pin machine and e-payments) for my business and saved us a shed load of money. On the back of that I have referred him to many clients recently. Just thought I'd put it out there - not only is he a full on gashead, but also a really sensible solution for taking your payments...
