Hi everyone,
Hoping to get The FFS Club up and running this month, along the way we will look at new ideas and suggestions in how it can be better run and improve on the previous two seasons efforts. Hope you all contribute your thoughts as it's YOU that made it special.
Today i would like to ask for some specific help -
We really need a Treasurer, someone who can collect money and keep a book tallying the monies in and out. This should be able to be done from home (computer based).
We may need a bank account opened, and obviously i/we would need to meet the person to clarify a few things.
I'm gonna invite Mark Brimson into the debate, as he does some sort of merchant service and has helped the supporters club before, i'm not sure how it works so i'm hoping he will explain.
Many thanks, and please help The FFS by giving your thoughts and/or expertise
JTS
P.S: If we can keep this thread purely for "The Treasurer" debate i'd appreciate it, other threads will be made soon on other aspects of the FFS, each will need debate/suggestions and we don't want to swamp the thoughts coming in. Thanks

Few points, Whats the best way to collect/collate the money, in the past i've used PayPal as the Bank and collecting tool in effect. Any thoughts on collection methods etc. PayPal was completely free by the way which was great.

We could offer different means of paying, Paypal or straight into bank account etc as the more options available to people to pay the better i say. ? I will report back Monday with my findings Parrot

PayPal is easy enough and secure but so is paying into a specific account at a bank. For those not able to use PayPal or internet banking they can simply take the payments into a high Street bank (putting their forum name on the paying in slip)

I think it should be AN option. You can link a paypal account to a bank account though so possibly would be a good idea. Might take the pressure off yourself if it could run with maybe parrot having access too to release funds if needed. PayPal shouldn't be dropped though. Its safe, secure and tried and tested. Linking to a bank account would give members the option to join ad hoc on a match day when they have a spare tenner. If the books are kept in top order, people could even pay half membership for half a year if spare dollar is hard to come by?
Sponsor days should be kept in my opinion. I have yet to go to one but Id like to and everyone seemed to really enjoy them. There's loads of people Id like to meet and that good spirit was such a big part of the ffs.
anyway mate, there's a few ideas. Over to you.

Have done a bit of research and most of the High Street Banks off a "Treasurer" account for this type of set up. I will choose one as close to me as possible so I can pay in cash as and when required I will get the forms Monday and then meet up with Jon before opening the account Its a free banking service and should be able to get one that pays some nominal interest Looking forward to getting this up and running ASAP
