Jon, my own question.
When can we join? The only real test about whether most people want to contribute to such an initiative is right there.
Personally, I feel that if we subscribe to the 'lets not help the club' mentality, then ordinary people will miss out on opportunities the ffsc provides.

I am more than happy to re-join the FFS this season,as well as helping the club out it gave its members a chance to feel part of something good. I am sure every single member would be only to happy to do it again. One thing from the other thread,a comment from Mehewmagic which I think could be a good idea. The funds raised could go to buying equipment(I know the SC also does this),or as Mehew said, maybe to pay for the youth team to attend a tournament/training session somewhere. I know Torquay send their youth team to Ireland to take part in a tournament. Just a thought. UTG

Jon, I would just like to say I am more than happy that you run the FFS as you see fit, no one else puts in the time and effort that you do, so I will be backing the FFS as last year and am happy for you and the guys to use the funds in what ever way you think will help the young players/club the most. UTG. Hence I have no questions for you. Many thanks Newmarket. I'm no 5 furlong Sprinter, i'm trying to do whats best to win the Melbourne Cup (long haul). I'm doing what i believe in, i won't please everyone that's a fact. But i'll go with my head and heart and hope it works. time will tell and my sincere apologies to those that don't get the FFS run the way they would like it.

I think realistically the "Family open Day" is the target for launching 2014-15 FFS. I agree with your last sentence that predominantly members want it to be proactive. It is also a result of the past two seasons that fun is an essential ingredient in people deciding to sign up.

UTG Hi Ralph, As above, the "Family Fun Day" is the target - 27th July, i hope to be there to also answer anyone's questions/concerns. And in response to your 2nd comment, i will be asking the club if a link to The FFS can be added to the Official website of BRFC.

In my opinion the FFS MUST REMAIN FUN and i hope you're right that others will be happy to sign up again. Your other remark is more tricky. The Supporters Club Sponsor and Support the Youth Set Up at BRFC, that is their baby and what a great job they do too. As i have said previously the funds we raise are "Increased Revenue" at the club and are hard to tie down to the exact amounts raised. Tom Curtis approached me last month asking for help to send the academy to Bideford and St. Georges Park for specialist training, as the OF shut suddenly i had no way to raise extra funds and had to tell him we could not help at the time.(i notice the academy did attend St. Georges which is good news). Through all this, i can see The FFS needs fine tuning, maybe we can raise money for "Specific Causes" in the future through asking for "Donations" with no product/service in return, similar to the way we received donations when Inee's Daughter Anne Marie sadly passed away. On the subject of The Supporters Club, i would like to meet up with them in the near future and work closer with them, through all these last few months i am only just beginning to understand what a great job they do, and if we could share a few ideas i think that would benefit everyone.

A SC meeting tomorrow night, but I have no idea if they even know about the FFS. I had forgotten on the old OF that we were asked if we could help out with training for the Youth team, this I think is a good road to go down. As for "Specific causes",not really keen on that, although I guess it would depend on what it was. A "as and when" as in the case of Anne Marie was a bit of a "one off". No problem with that.
Prehaps you should try and speak to Jim C.

Stop being manipulative and twisting my words. Where am i suggeting not helping the club or in Jons words suggesting people dont turn up for matches ? Im just suggesting having a bit more self respect and awareness of the bigger picture of what message this is giving the club. Im not going to bother even using your forum if you are going to constantly lie. Just disagree with me there is no need to be manipulative. You have a great product that the club really needs, we just disagree on our approach. Im sure the "jon the stripe" club donation scheme will do incredibly well whatever one slightly idealistic supporter thinks of it.

Mate, that isn't anything to do with you. Genuinely. I'm sorry you feel like that but I am allowed an opinion too and it is mine alone.
tbh I'm a bit baffled.

No disrespect to anyone here intended.
I have only skimmed over a few of the questions and and answers so not really read them in too much detail. Reason being is I have been downing a couple while waiting for the female of the species to get ready to go out ( am on holiday).
What I will say is guys the FFS club is awesome as it is and fir me is a vehicle to meet and socialise with other Gasheads that I would not normally get to meet. And to be frank there are some great characters amongst us.
Some of the thoughts and questions to JTS are a little too political for my liking.
As I said the FFS club is awesome but the money we raise although I am sure is appreciated is small fry to the amounts required to have any input on any decisions the club/ board would make so all this talk about pressure groups and having an input or influencing how the club is run is quite frankly nonsense.
Please let's treat the FFS club for what it is and Jon is a top top fellow who we should all be grateful for not question the way some have.
Like I said absolutely no disrespect or offense ment to anyone - have a great evening all!!!

After reading through the FFSC threads myself, you have saved me the trouble for want of a better word of posting what you have put so well. As a member from the inception of the FFSC will be quite happy to sign up again and would hope it would be run along the same lines as before.

Jon I'm sure you have already asked the club, but is there no way they could retrieve your data? It was an official part of the official site, and as such should have been backed up in case anything happened. They should at least have the last back up available? I would seriously enquire if not why not?

But unless the OF is switched back on again for a while i can't message everyone to tell them to send me their details and the club cannot give me peoples email addresses etc due to the Data Protection Act. Kirsty was helpful in this, alas all is lost.

At the risk of sending mixed messages myself I do believe Dins raises some good points.
The club have shown shocking mismanagement of resources and their behavior towards fans and the forum was disgusting. But does that mean we should change one of the best things I have been involved in in my time supporting Rovers?
I can also understand him (and others) being confused with JTS's roles with other groups.
As usual I see things the same way as Dins but from the other angle. I too can see how JTS's involvement with the Welly group and the FFS appear to give a mixed message. However for me I was thinking that he had moved away from the FFS ideals onto something very different. I see the relaunch of the FFS as a return to type from Jon. It was the involvement with the Welly group that confused me, not the other way around.
However, I believe Jon has always strongly pressed the board in a positive way for the good of the FFSC members anyway.
I also think we are maybe being a little unfair on JTS. He is just one member of the FFSC. Nothing more. he is also human and has put himself out there to be shot at. Fair play, most of wouldn't.
Yes, the FFSC was his idea and he has been the main driver. We have all been incredibly lucky to have ridden on his coat tails. But again, he is just one member. If the majority wanted something different from the FFSC I am certain Jon would take that on the chin regardless of his personal wants.
I'm not sure what point I am trying to make if I am honest, but it just felt like something I needed to say. My support of the FFSC is done willingly but not blindly.
