You could see from the first 5 minutes that out tactics wouldn't work. Completely bypassing the mf with long balls for their two cbs to practice their headers. If you wanna play like that dc then at least put a few players in the side that are capable of winning a header. Sinclair man of the match was a joke. Blokes a headless chicken on the wing which of course wasn't his fault but looking at the mf today, I don't think he will make the grade in this league as a cm. They were better than us in every department which is a worry. but DC helped them look that good with our poor set up.

Absolutely pathetic game, had to be JJ that scored. Taylor was poor, but then, so was everyone A poor miss by him but Taylor was a damn sight better than the totally ineffective Bodin, I can't honestly see what extra he brings to the front line when we've already got Easter & Taylor. Surely with the hoof ball we were playing Bliss was the ideal man to replace Taylor, or even earlier Easter.

Bad - Mildys kicking game. Easters hold up play. 3-4 players tripping over the ball, taylor with the open goal! Lines sleep walking. Balloon fiesta traffic.
Optimistic - New wingers need time to settle.
Decent - Leadbitter, j clarke & beard put a shift in.
Conclusion - Northampton better drilled. Can't win them all.

Nothing great about the cobblers but they were better drilled, a good word. Their Adam Barrett lookalike at the back won everything from the first minute, so frustrating when teams have a player like that at the back who mops up all game. Lockyer is not a good enough passer of the ball to play in midfield. If he's not a good enough choice for RB or CB, don't play him, simple as that. Looking forward to hearing DCs views on his formation and tactics today..

For me our worst player. my problem with Taylor as he isn't good enough in front of goal. he scored goals last season against teams who were significantly poorer organised and when he didn't have time to think. one on one he is very poor and today that miss was inexcusable. Why he didn't hit with his left foot is beyond me and tbh the problem in this league as you will get less chances and you must take them, if our single chance comes to Taylor then he won't score more often than he will. Also tactics were poor, we didn't have enough drive from the midfield and Mildy's kicking was atrocious. Plus side I am sure we will learn quickly and DC will sort but we look like we need more quality to have a comfortable year.

Why the f**k are people tongueing O'Toole suddenly? Suddenly? They did for 99% of his time at the club.

If MCcrystal had been playing nothing would have changed as he is the master of hoofing it to no one And if he had not played at Wembley, we will still be in the Conference!

A lot of people are sounding a lot like me. With reference to our water poor excuse for a striker.

Thought their baldie no.4 had a great game and he always immediately went forward into their midfield at every opportunity after clearing the ball. On top of that very vocal and encouraging their players at every opportun ity.

Really poor today but I'm putting that down as a bad day at the office as opposed to lack of ability.
We were crying out for lines to collect the ball from the defence early to stop the long hoofs up top but he was completely anonymous all game. I also can't see any benefit in playing both Taylor and Easter as they are far too alike.. Bodin offered nothing when he came on and on today's showing he's not going to get an extension, unless the budget is that tight that Clarke keeps him purely for numbers.

How many shot on target did easter have - a big fat Zero Spent more time on his arse by diving yet no one is slagging him to death

Very poor

It was an open goal but he wouldn't strike with his left foot and chance went. i don't personally think Easter would have missed it, nor Harrison and that is my issue. I think his approach play last season was good but then we also created more chances and could afford to miss odd one. Today that was only notable one(admittedly from Blackthorn I couldn't see how close Harrison was) we had, we missed and lost.

Well that was really rather easy. We put in a solid performance and got our tactics spot on, forcing you to hoof it up to Cresswell/Diamond every time. Head and shoulders above you all over the park and I was really surprised by your lack of creativity/incision.
