the worry today was we couldnt find any solution to nothamptons very effective closing down tactics,,,they simply pressed us out of the game and we played many aimless balls because of it. that said we missed two very good chances which could have got us a point.

I'd have O'Toole back in this squad like that. (I'm clicking my fingers).

It was nice to see the groundsman water the sky today so the ball would travel further.

Absolutely pathetic game, had to be JJ that scored. Taylor was poor, but then, so was everyone

We lacked any real experienced leadership today and boy could you tell!! The speed of the game took quite a few by surprise but I am sure they will adapt to that and quickly.
If Mc Crystal and/or Mansell had been playing then we would have at least been more organised and heads would not have dropped. We seem to be bowled over by the sheer power, physical presence and the speed at which Northampton closed us down.
The Midfield needs sorting and Linesy told to push forward and cause the opponents forward instead of playing alongside Lockyer which is what happened today. Mansell would not have let that happen.
If this match is anything to go by then its going to be dour stuff to watch as I cant remember a single piece of flair or skill from either side for the entire match.
I am confident that DC will put it right very quickly with a little help from a couple of older heads.

At least the girls in the Annexe are all wearing Rovers shirts. About time we had a proper Rovers pub around here.

If MCcrystal had been playing nothing would have changed as he is the master of hoofing it to no one He competely controls that defence and continually coaches that players alongside him. It was no coincidence that the only match we played last season without either Mansell of McCrystal playing was Bath at home and we know how that ended up

I'm still in shock from Taylor. Was he not gonna accept it as an open net until he'd got on the ground and pushed it in with his head? O'Toole celebrating in front of me has taken all the good feeling about the new season out of me. Still, cup on Tuesday! OToole barely celebrated. He just stood there whilst his mates jumped on his back. It could have been a lot worse and I actually give him credit for his conduct today. Outclassed our boo boys big time.
