Bad start for the thread! It can only get better. Looking forward to seeing how we all bounce back. Sure the team will! Overall good start by team. The best for some seasons. Let's see if we have bouncebackability

So a month goes by and we find ourselves, 6pts away from the relegation spot and 3pts away from the play off positions and only 6 points from the automatic promotion places.
Its going to be a long season but we are certainly not out of gaining promotion at first attempt. That's the managers target. The Realistic goal of playoffs is still possible and of course we could still get into the top 3 places. Super stretching goal is my aim. Great result yesterday. This could be my shortest post ever. The team did the talking last night.

We are better off than I originally thought. Happy days. Automatics defiantly on!

Automatics defiantly on! Defiantly: refusing to surrender belief in the face of much opposition. Definitely: beyond doubt it will happen. Which do you mean Rich?!

What a week! I couldn't even get a simple calculation right on Gas Chat. Even got spellings wrong. Nothing ground-breaking this week. Awful few months for me and my family.
My mothers funeral is on Monday 12th October. She has had alzheimers for over 7 years and has spent last 2 1/2 years in a care home. She died of pneumonia at the local hospital. My father who is very healthy and a sprightly 88 visited her every day. My focus has been on ensuring that he is OK. I know my father was relieved that she died at time when she still knew who he was although she was increasingly frail. She spent the whole of Sunday morning calling for him. Once he arrived she died 20 minutes later. Alzheimers is an awful illness. My mother died peacefully next to her partner of over 63 years.

At least she died peacefully next to her partner though.

After a difficult few weeks personally I notice the team have continued to push on and now we see ourselves in this wonderful position of being just outside play offs. Great stuff!
Some of us will be happy that a couple of victories could see us well in the mix and in whispering distance of top three. We keep winning and i keep bumping this thread.
I hope to be bumping on a weekly basis! If we sort out our home form we might just surprise ourselves. Winners will expect back to back promotion. No need to think its not possible.
Bring it on!
The bus is ready for another ride.

I haven't seen anything much that convinces me we can gain promotion.
Still think we will finish around 10th give or take a couple of places.
If we can get to January and be there abouts will we have the funds to strengthen?

If we can get to January and be there abouts will we have the funds to strengthen? See, personally I would go the other way and say that I haven't seen anything from other teams that shows me we can't get promotion, we haven't been outclassed in any game I've seen, yet we have properly battered a couple of teams, maybe with out a battering scoreline. Plus take into account that we've played mostly all of the sides at the top end, I think if we can win the 2 home games this week we should be inside the top 7, a great place to really kick on from, as regards the budget, I think DC knows what he's got and keeps a bit back to get extra players in as and when they're needed so if we are right up there in Jan I think we will see a couple of additions.

I am rarely rude to fellow gas heads but I have no idea what the gbg is or what purpose it serves.
Goal setting may work for a team but if you have no influence on the team, setting goals is pointless.
It's like setting a goal for the gdp of Eritrea or setting a temperature target for the moon.
If we achieve the gbg, this thread has nothing to do with it whatsoever.
